The racial makeup of the county is 96.10% White, 0.67% Black or African American, 0.21% Native American, 0.82% Asian, 0.02% Pacific Islander, 1.31% from other races, and 0.89% from two or more races. 2.37% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 11,193 households out of which 28.80% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 50.00% are married couples living together, 7.80% have a female householder with no husband present, and 39.50% are non-families. 30.10% of all households are made up of individuals and 10.80% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older.
