Anderson County is a county located in the state of Tennessee. As of 2000, the population is 71,330. Its county seat is Clinton6.
Geography
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 893 km² (345 mi²). 874 km² (338 mi²) of it is land and 19 km² (7 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 2.12% water.
Demographics
As of the census2 of 2000, there are 71,330 people, 29,780 households, and 20,518 families residing in the county. The population density is 82/km² (211/mi²). The racial makeup of the county is 93.36% White, 3.88% Black or African American, 0.32% Native American, 0.83% Asian, 0.01% Pacific Islander, 0.38% from other races, and 1.22% from two or more races. 1.10% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
