Talbot County is a county located in the state of Georgia. As of 2000, the population is 6,498. The county's county seat is Talbotton, Georgia6.
Geography
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 1,022 km² (395 mi²). 1,018 km² (393 mi²) of it is land and 4 km² (2 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 0.39% water.

As of the census2 of 2000, there are 6,498 people, 2,538 households, and 1,824 families residing in the county. The population density is 6/km² (16/mi²). The racial makeup of the county is 36.80% White, 61.59% Black or African American, 0.23% Native American, 0.28% Asian, 0.02% Pacific Islander, 0.26% from other races, and 0.83% from two or more races. 1.26% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
