Shelby County is a county located in the state of Illinois. As of 2000, the population is 22,893. Its county seat is Shelbyville, Illinois6.
Geography
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 1,989 km² (768 mi²). 1,965 km² (759 mi²) of it is land and 25 km² (10 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 1.24% water.
