Ogle County is a county located in the state of Illinois. As of 2000, the population is 51,032. Its county seat is Oregon, Illinois6.

Geography
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 1,977 km² (763 mi²). 1,965 km² (759 mi²) of it is land and 11 km² (4 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 0.58% water.
Demographics
As of the census2 of 2000, there are 51,032 people, 19,278 households, and 14,169 families residing in the county. The population density is 26/km² (67/mi²). There are 20,420 housing units at an average density of 10/km² (27/mi²). The racial makeup of the county is 95.35% White, 0.44% Black or African American, 0.24% Native American, 0.42% Asian, 0.04% Pacific Islander, 2.45% from other races, and 1.06% from two or more races. 6.01% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 19,278 households out of which 35.50% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 61.30% are married couples living together, 8.30% have a female householder with no husband present, and 26.50% are non-families. 22.50% of all households are made up of individuals and 9.80% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.62 and the average family size is 3.07.
In the county the population is spread out with 27.50% under the age of 18, 7.20% from 18 to 24, 28.80% from 25 to 44, 23.10% from 45 to 64, and 13.40% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 37 years. For every 100 females there are 98.40 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 96.00 males.
The median income for a household in the county is $45,448, and the median income for a family is $53,028. Males have a median income of $39,862 versus $23,854 for females. The per capita income for the county is $20,515. 7.10% of the population and 5.30% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total population, 8.40% of those under the age of 18 and 5.30% of those 65 and older are living below the poverty line.
