Education
Public elementary schools and junior high schools in Schaumburg are operated by Community Consolidated School District 54.
Schaumburg falls within High School District 211, which received its desired tax increase during the April 2005 elections in order to balance the budget for the future school years, with intense campaigning by the Hoffman Estates High School based Save Our Schools (SOS) organization.
It is the opinion of some Schaumburg taxpayers and students that the proposed fund increase for 2005 is by no means "much needed". Schaumburg teachers, especially high school teachers are among the highest paid in the state.
Proponents claim that they are also, however, some of the most qualified. Schools in Schaumburg have a myriad of extracurricular activities, which would have been cut if the tax referendum failed.
