Rother is a local government district in East Sussex, England. Its council is based in Bexhill-on-Sea. The district is named for the River Rother. Also contains the historic towns of Battle which was the site of the Battle of Hastings and Rye which has a small harbour. Forms an economic unit with the separate town of Hastings, which it completely surrounds.
