Cherwell is a local government district in district in northern Oxfordshire, England. The district takes its name from the River Cherwell, which drains south through the region to meet up with the River Thames at Oxford.
Towns in Cherwell include Banbury, Bicester and Kidlington.
Cherwell is also the name of a student newspaper of the University of Oxford, and the peerage title of Frederick Lindemann, 1st Viscount Cherwell.
