Scott County is a county located in the U.S. state of Arkansas. As of 2000, the population is 10,996. The county seat is Waldron. The county was formed on November 15, 1833 and named for Andrew Scott, a justice of the Supreme Court of the Arkansas Territory.

Geography
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 2,326 km² (898 mi²). 2,315 km² (894 mi²) of it is land and 11 km² (4 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 0.47% water.

There are 4,924 housing units at an average density of 2/km² (6/mi²). The racial makeup of the county is 93.53% White, 0.23% Black or African American, 1.40% Native American, 0.95% Asian, 0.01% Pacific Islander, 2.56% from other races, and 1.32% from two or more races. 5.71% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 4,323 households out of which 32.60% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 59.50% are married couples living together, 8.50% have a female householder with no husband present, and 27.80% are non-families. 24.80% of all households are made up of individuals and 11.40% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.52 and the average family size is 2.98.
In the county the population is spread out with 26.50% under the age of 18, 8.10% from 18 to 24, 26.50% from 25 to 44, 24.20% from 45 to 64, and 14.70% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 37 years. For every 100 females there are 101.90 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 96.60 males.
