Lonoke County is a county located in the U.S. state of Arkansas. As of 2000, the population is 52,828. The county seat is Lonoke.
Lonoke County was formed on 16 April 1873 and was named for a "lone oak" tree that stood on the site of the present county seat and was used as a local landmark.
Lonoke County is the location of the Camp Nelson Confederate Cemetery.

Geography
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 2,078 km² (802 mi²). 1,984 km² (766 mi²) of it is land and 94 km² (36 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 4.54% water.

There are 20,749 housing units at an average density of 10/km² (27/mi²). The racial makeup of the county is 91.03% White, 6.44% Black or African American, 0.49% Native American, 0.42% Asian, 0.03% Pacific Islander, 0.51% from other races, and 1.08% from two or more races. 1.75% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 19,262 households out of which 40.30% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 63.30% are married couples living together, 10.60% have a female householder with no husband present, and 22.00% are non-families. 19.00% of all households are made up of individuals and 7.60% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.71 and the average family size is 3.09.
In the county the population is spread out with 28.70% under the age of 18, 8.00% from 18 to 24, 30.90% from 25 to 44, 21.90% from 45 to 64, and 10.40% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 35 years. For every 100 females there are 96.80 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 93.50 males.
