Pine Bluff is a city located in Jefferson County, Arkansas. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 55,085. The city is the county seat of Jefferson CountyTemplate:GR.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 121.3 km² (46.8 mi²). 118.1 km² (45.6 mi²) of it is land and 3.2 km² (1.2 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 2.65% water.
Demographics
As of the censusTemplate:GR of 2000, there are 55,085 people, 19,956 households, and 13,350 families residing in the city. The population density is 466.3/km² (1,207.6/mi²). The racial makeup of the city is 32.30% White, 65.85% Black or African American, 0.17% Native American, 0.73% Asian, 0.04% Pacific Islander, 0.19% from other races, and 0.72% from two or more races. 0.82% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 19,956 households out of which 32.9% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 38.7% are married couples living together, 23.8% have a female householder with no husband present, and 33.1% are non-families. 29.2% of all households are made up of individuals and 11.8% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.57 and the average family size is 3.20.
