WUWG (FM)

WUWG FM is the radio station of the State University of West Georgia in Carrollton, Georgia, broadcasting on 90.7MHz. The station is listener-supported affiliate of Georgia Public Radio, but also produces its own programming. Licensed to the university, the station was transferred in 2004 to the Georgia Public Telecommunications Commission, which runs GPB.
It has been on the air since 1973, originally as WWGC when the school was West Georgia College. The station was previously a very diverse college radio format, but now broadcasts GPR, with some student specialty shows. With an omnidirectional antenna, it covers Carroll County and somewhat beyond with 500 watts ERP, and has its own town of Carrollton as its city of license.
Some notable former DJs at the station include: Rhubarb Jones, Randall Davidson, Lisa Lang, Drew Fountain, Mike Bland, Sean Gilbert, and Teri Lamprey.
