WALR-FM (Kiss 104, 104.1MHz) is an Atlanta FM radio station owned by Cox Radio, and having LaGrange as its city of license. It has changed more than most other Atlanta FM radio stations.
It has existed since at least the 1970s. As with many FM stations back then, it simulcasted with an AM station, WALR AM. In the mid-1980s, it became a separate station of R&B called WEKS "Urban Kiss 104". Then, in 1989, it changed to a country station WYAI (Y-104), simulcasting with WYAY FM (Y-106) on the other side of Atlanta. In 1994, the simulcast ended and it became WJZF "Jazz Flavors 104".
In 2000, the station became R&B station WALR-FM "Kiss 104.1", when the former WALR-FM "Kiss 104.7" at 104.7 (now WFSH-FM) was swapped between Cox and Salem Communications. Finally, in early 2003, the station changed to R&B oldies.
This station is broadcasting in IBOC digital radio, using the HD Radio system from iBiquity.
