Pomona Valley

The Pomona Valley, a part of the Inland Empire, is located in the eastern and western portion of Los Angeles County and San Bernardino County, California, respectively. It lies directly south of the San Gabriel Mountains. The eastern portion is largely rural. The historic Route 66 ran through much of the Pomona Valley. The Cucamonga Valley is to the east.

The residents of the Pomona Valley are predominantly white and Hispanic. In contrast to the San Gabriel Valley, the population of Asian Americans is much smaller.

Transportation

The Pomona Valley is served by freeways: San Bernardino Freeway (Interstate 10), Foothill Freeway (I-210), Ontario Freeway (I-15), and the Pomona Freeway (California 60). The Ontario Freeway connects to Las Vegas, Nevada. The Pomona Freeway links to Riverside.

In Claremont, Mt. Baldy Road leads into the Mt. Baldy Ski Resort of Mt. San Antonio (nicknamed "Mt. Baldy") in the San Gabriel Mountains.

The city of Ontario is the site of Ontario International Airport (ONT). Cable Airport is a small public airport in Upland.

The cities of the Pomona Valley include: Chino, Chino Hills, Claremont, Diamond Bar, La Verne, Montclair, Ontario, Phillips Ranch, Pomona, Rancho Cucamonga, San Antonio Heights, San Dimas and Upland.
