Drew County is a county located in the U.S. state of Arkansas. As of 2000, the population is 18,723. The county seat is Monticello. Drew County was formed on November 26, 1846 and named for Thomas Drew, the 3rd governor of Arkansas.

Geography
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 2,164 km² (836 mi²). 2,145 km² (828 mi²) of it is land and 19 km² (7 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 0.89% water.

The racial makeup of the county is 70.30% White, 27.16% Black or African American, 0.25% Native American, 0.42% Asian, 0.02% Pacific Islander, 1.00% from other races, and 0.85% from two or more races. 1.76% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 7,337 households out of which 33.50% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 51.30% are married couples living together, 14.20% have a female householder with no husband present, and 30.60% are non-families. 26.00% of all households are made up of individuals and 10.50% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.46 and the average family size is 2.97.
