Anoka County is a county located in the state of Minnesota. As of 2000, the population is 298,084. Its county seat is Anoka6.

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 1,156 km² (446 mi²). 1,097 km² (424 mi²) of it is land and 59 km² (23 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 5.08% water.

As of the census2 of 2000, there are 298,084 people, 106,428 households, and 79,395 families residing in the county. The population density is 272/km² (704/mi²). There are 108,091 housing units at an average density of 99/km² (255/mi²). The racial makeup of the county is 93.64% White, 1.60% Black or African American, 0.70% Native American, 1.69% Asian, 0.02% Pacific Islander, 0.65% from other races, and 1.71% from two or more races. 1.66% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 106,428 households out of which 39.90% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 60.70% are married couples living together, 9.80% have a female householder with no husband present, and 25.40% are non-families. 19.30% of all households are made up of individuals and 5.30% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.77 and the average family size is 3.19.

In the county the population is spread out with 28.90% under the age of 18, 8.30% from 18 to 24, 34.10% from 25 to 44, 21.60% from 45 to 64, and 7.10% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 34 years. For every 100 females there are 101.10 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 99.30 males.

The median income for a household in the county is $57,754, and the median income for a family is $64,261. Males have a median income of $41,527 versus $30,534 for females. The per capita income for the county is $23,297. 4.20% of the population and 2.90% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total population, 4.90% of those under the age of 18 and 4.50% of those 65 and older are living below the poverty line.
