Genesee is a city located in Latah County, Idaho. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 946.

Genesee is located at 46°33'4" North, 116°55'39" West (46.551078, -116.927482)Template:GR.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 1.7 km² (0.6 mi²). 1.7 km² (0.6 mi²) of it is land and none of it is covered by water.
Demographics
As of the censusTemplate:GR of 2000, there are 946 people, 355 households, and 275 families residing in the city. The population density is 561.9/km² (1,456.6/mi²). There are 378 housing units at an average density of 224.5/km² (582.0/mi²). The racial makeup of the city is 96.83% White, 0.11% African American, 0.85% Native American, 0.21% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.21% from other races, and 1.80% from two or more races. 1.06% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 355 households out of which 41.4% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 67.6% are married couples living together, 6.8% have a female householder with no husband present, and 22.5% are non-families. 18.3% of all households are made up of individuals and 5.1% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.66 and the average family size is 3.04.
In the city the population is spread out with 30.5% under the age of 18, 4.5% from 18 to 24, 33.5% from 25 to 44, 23.8% from 45 to 64, and 7.6% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 34 years. For every 100 females there are 104.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 102.8 males.
The median income for a household in the city is $42,167, and the median income for a family is $47,794. Males have a median income of $32,500 versus $25,865 for females. The per capita income for the city is $19,576. 6.2% of the population and 4.4% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total population, 3.8% of those under the age of 18 and 14.1% of those 65 and older are living below the poverty line.
