Romford railway station
|
Romford station is located in Romford, London and is between Chadwell Heath and Gidea Park. It is the western terminus of the Upminster branch line from Upminster, with Emerson Park the next station along.
The current station is made up of two once-separate stations on opposite sides of South Street. The oldest part of the station (current platforms 2–5) was opened by the Eastern Counties Railway in 1839. The London Tilbury & Southend Railway station (current platform 1) was opened in 1892 and originally had two platforms. The two stations are now joined by a footbridge.
All train services are currently operated by one. It is in Zone 6. It is proposed that Crossrail line 1 will call at Romford.
