Prowers County is a county located in the U.S. state of Colorado. As of 2000, the population is 14,483. The county seat is Lamar.

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 4,259 km² (1,644 mi²). 4,249 km² (1,640 mi²) of it is land and 10 km² (4 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 0.24% water.

The racial makeup of the county is 78.57% White, 0.30% Black or African American, 1.22% Native American, 0.37% Asian, 0.03% Pacific Islander, 17.17% from other races, and 2.34% from two or more races. 32.91% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
