Miramar is a city located in Broward County, Florida. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 72,739.

Miramar is located at 25°58'44" North, 80°16'57" West (25.978812, -80.282489)Template:GR.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 80.3 km² (31.0 mi²). 76.4 km² (29.5 mi²) of it is land and 3.9 km² (1.5 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 4.84% water.
The city's official motto is "Beauty and Progress."
Demographics
As of the censusTemplate:GR of 2000, there are 72,739 people, 23,058 households, and 18,653 families residing in the city. The population density is 952.0/km² (2,465.8/mi²). There are 25,905 housing units at an average density of 339.1/km² (878.2/mi²). The racial makeup of the city is 43.59% White, 43.30% African American, 0.16% Native American, 3.03% Asian, 0.10% Pacific Islander, 4.72% from other races, and 5.11% from two or more races. 29.38% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 23,058 households out of which 48.2% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 56.0% are married couples living together, 19.1% have a female householder with no husband present, and 19.1% are non-families. 14.3% of all households are made up of individuals and 3.3% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 3.15 and the average family size is 3.48.
In the city the population is spread out with 31.0% under the age of 18, 8.6% from 18 to 24, 35.4% from 25 to 44, 18.7% from 45 to 64, and 6.3% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 32 years. For every 100 females there are 90.8 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 85.0 males.
The median income for a household in the city is $50,289, and the median income for a family is $52,952. Males have a median income of $34,145 versus $28,283 for females. The per capita income for the city is $18,462. 8.2% of the population and 7.0% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total population, 9.8% of those under the age of 18 and 8.5% of those 65 and older are living below the poverty line.
