Magna is a census-designated place located in Salt Lake County, Utah. As of the 2000 census, the CDP had a total population of 22,770, a moderate increase over the 1990 figure of 17,829.

Magna is located at 40°42'6" North, 112°5'9" West (40.701579, -112.085874)Template:GR.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 19.2 km² (7.4 mi²). 19.2 km² (7.4 mi²) of it is land and none of the area is covered with water.

Demographics

As of the censusTemplate:GR of 2000, there are 22,770 people, 6,562 households, and 5,446 families residing in the CDP. The population density is 1,183.2/km² (3,066.2/mi²). There are 6,799 housing units at an average density of 353.3/km² (915.6/mi²). The racial makeup of the CDP is 86.26% White, 0.64% African American, 0.90% Native American, 0.60% Asian, 1.41% Pacific Islander, 7.80% from other races, and 2.41% from two or more races. 15.00% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 6,562 households out of which 51.9% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 65.9% are married couples living together, 11.4% have a female householder with no husband present, and 17.0% are non-families. 13.1% of all households are made up of individuals and 4.8% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 3.46 and the average family size is 3.77.

In the CDP the population is spread out with 36.2% under the age of 18, 12.3% from 18 to 24, 31.2% from 25 to 44, 14.3% from 45 to 64, and 6.0% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 26 years. For every 100 females there are 101.8 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 100.0 males.

The median income for a household in the CDP is $42,845, and the median income for a family is $45,632. Males have a median income of $32,071 versus $22,277 for females. The per capita income for the CDP is $14,355. 7.6% of the population and 5.7% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total population, 8.6% of those under the age of 18 and 9.2% of those 65 and older are living below the poverty line.
