Beirut International Airport

Beirut International Airport is an airport located in Beirut, Lebanon. It is the hub for Middle East Airlines (also known as Air Liban or MEA).
On June 22, 2005, Beirut International Airport was officially renamed Rafik Hariri International Airport in honor of ex-Lebanese Prime Minister Rafik Hariri who was brutally assassinated in a huge explosion in Beirut on February 14, 2005 when his motorcade was targeted.

Jazeera Airways, a new private Kuwaiti airline, plans to begin operations in October. It plans to serve Beirut along with other cities throughout the Arab world.
Royal Air Maroc, the national carrier of Morocco, will begin service to Beirut in early 2006, however a launch date, frequency, and aircraft type have not been announced yet.
Cathay Pacific has hinted that it may serve Beirut in the near future.
