Barking station is a London Underground and National Rail station located in Barking in the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham in East London. On the Underground, it is served by the District and Hammersmith & City lines; Barking is the eastern terminus for the Hammersmith & City, though the District Line continues eastward to Upminster. On National Rail, the station is served by c2c and Silverlink train services.
The station was opened in 1854 by the London Tilbury & Southend Railway, with the Gospel Oak to Barking line following in 1894. The electrified District Line service reached Barking in 1908, and the Hammersmith & City Line (then the Metropolitan Line) in 1936.
The station is in Zone 4 and is managed by c2c.
Platforms
The Station has eight platforms.
1. Silverlink to Gospel Oak
2. District Line to Upminster (both sides of track)
3. Hammersmith & City Line (and occasionally District Line) to Central London (towards end of plat 2/4)
4. c2c to Shoeburyness via Upminster
5. c2c to Fenchurch Street
6. District Line (and occasionally Hammersmith & City Line) to Central London
7. c2c to Grays via Rainham (and occasionally some services via Upminster)
8. c2c to Fenchurch Street (and occasionally some services to Liverpool Street or Grays)
