York Regional Municipality
York Regional Municipality, also called York Municipality or York Region, is a municipality in south-central Ontario, between Lake Simcoe and Toronto. Population: 803,780 (2002). It is the fastest growing census division in Canada, expected to surpass 1.5 million residents by 2020. The entire region is part of the Greater Toronto Area. The regional seat is in Newmarket.
