Naruto
Now, I have an idea on how to settle this: For each quote:
* (Japanese text) (translation of Japanese text) * (Viz quote, marked as such)
Agreed, as I have suggested previously. The title should contain the Japanese romaji, followed by kanji. Then literal translation should be provided, along with various English translations in brackets. I took out the Viz translation previously because there are many people who are misinformed. They think the literal Japanese translation is the improper English manga translation, leading them to think the Japanese word "Bunshin" means "Doppelganger". I believe that the various English translations should be included, if users decide to add it, along with where it originated from.
NONE of them are. Translators always mess with little details so their works will make sense with English-speaking audiences
WhisperToMe: This is untrue. Most fan-works outside of Viz provide a much more accurate traanslation of the Japanese text. As Japanese, it is appalling to see Japanese text get translated so poorly -- especially when it is done to cater to the targeted audience. If Masashi Kishimoto knows about such translations, and if he had a say, he would not have let it be released. Go to this thread to see how many disagrees with you: [1] (http://forums.narutofan.com/showthread.php?t=27931)
Naruto fans wishes the official Japanese to be used on Wikipedia. The English translation that you provide is only one of the many English translations out there, so to use the version you feel correct is misleading. In addition, having any Japanese text along side the inaccurate English translation only serve to mislead people into thinking those are literal translations. It is simply misleading to people who are trying to learn. As I have suggested, it is best to provide the official Japanese text, along with its Kanji, and then in the paragraph -- not in the title -- provide various translations. Encyclopedia is a compendium of facts, not as an advertisement to a specific product you wish to promote.
WhisperToMe: The Viz translation provided for the Naruto page is not the literal Japanese translation. To inform the users of the encyclopedia using the improper Viz translation is to provide inaccurate information. It is widely accepted by Naruto fans that the Japanese names should be used while other translations be in brackets, separating non-literal translation from the proper name. What I have provided on the Naruto page is the official Japanese words, as well as the literally translation. For example, "Bunshin" does not literally translate to "Clone". "Bunshin" is composed of two words "Bun" and "Shin" meaning "Split" and "Body" respectively. Please refrain from using inaccurate translations.
May I ask why you reverted all of my edits to the Naruto jutsu page? --JadziaLover 14:50, 13 Apr 2005 (UTC)
I'm sorry I removed some English versions of the jutsu names. I added the Viz translation behind the Japanese translation where ever I could find one. If you don't agree with my format of Japanes name (Viz translation where possible or else literal translation) please tell me.--JadziaLover 23:20, 13 Apr 2005 (UTC)
How should the header title be? "Japanese name (English name)", "English name (Japanese name)" or something else? --JadziaLover 23:29, 13 Apr 2005 (UTC)
If both are fine to you then do you mind if I keep using "Japanese name (English name)"? I prefer this format, because, in my experience, more people prefer Japanese to English --JadziaLover 23:50, 13 Apr 2005 (UTC)
Alright, then I'll switch to the English (Japanese) format for now. btw I don't understand why KageMonkey has such a problem with you. You seem like a reasonable person to me ps: You are right I should use the preview button more, sorry for that ^_^ --JadziaLover 00:01, 14 Apr 2005 (UTC)
I don't see why we have to use the American spelling ^_^ personally I think the British spelling is more aesthetic. However to be honest I was replacing the 'ō' in Kidomaru's name with an 'o' because I saw that you missed one, and I noticed you changed 'armour' into 'armor'. Since all the links use 'armour' already it seemed more convenient to change it back. --JadziaLover 06:32, 2 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Tokyo page
Hi W2M, The Tokyo page is getting long, and the lists of companies and of manga, tv shows, movies etc. are getting unwieldy. You and I have both added to lists today.
The Japanese Wikipedia has separate articles for lots of lists: One for manga, one for anime, one for plays (etc.) and one for movies (all, set in Tokyo); and one for Tokyo people.
What would you say to the idea of making a similar structure of separate articles for the English Wikipedia? Fg2 04:30, Oct 3, 2004 (UTC)
Good --- why don't I do companies and movies; do you feel like tackling manga and anime? If not, I'll do them too. Fg2 04:48, Oct 3, 2004 (UTC)
Better --- I've moved the companies; maybe the movies, manga, anime can all go in one article. Fg2 05:02, Oct 3, 2004 (UTC)
MEXT
What is with all the redirect pages for this article? Why on earth do you persist with this ridiculous campaign?? It's been agreed that, in most cases, redirect pages based on outdated romanization systems and misspellings/romanizations are not needed. Exploding Boy 21:23, Oct 4, 2004 (UTC)
UAE's Ministry of Planning lists Abu Dhabi as the largest Emirate and Dubai as the largest city. [2] (http://www.uae.gov.ae/mop/UAE_figure/UAE_%2003.htm). What I was getting at was that since we are talking about the United Arab Emirates, perhaps statistics based on Emirates would be more pertinant to the discussion than statistics based on cities. T'ai Chi Ch'uan
Hi WhisperToMe. Thanks for the box on the T'ai Chi article, it looks nice. There is a reason that I have been making duplicate Wade-Giles and pinyin articles in the T'ai Chi Ch'uan section. Most of the literature published about T'ai Chi in English is in Wade-Giles, yet the Chinese govt. pinyin is slowly becoming standard. So, you have an entire generation of traditionalists used to seeing it one way, and other groups equally committed to another. As well, loads of Chinese names and terms can look confusing enough to those not used to them, and all the duplications in parentheses may look even more inelegant and confusing to some. The Plurality subsection of Wikipedia is not paper covers just such exigencies and I haven't been having a problem maintaining the small number of pages so doubled. I hope this helps. Cheers, Fire Star 12:49, 11 Oct 2004 (UTC)
- Greetings again WhisperToMe. You are correct that pinyin is a new standard for articles concerning Chinese culture and I feel it is a necessary component. T'ai Chi is now a Western phenomenon as well, however, and a significant amount of Western scholarly literature on the subject (and other related subjects, Robert G. Henricks for example) is still being published in W-G. Look up the authors Jou Tsung-hwa, Robert Smith and Douglas Wile for prolific examples of T'ai Chi authors using W-G. So, the main reason that I want to keep two articles for the main styles is a concern for what first time visitors looking for info are going to search for. As this is a syndrome unique to T'ai Chi Ch'uan as far as I can see, we'll maybe end up with ten relatively small duplicated articles and one big one. I am a professional in the field with hundreds of students, and my opinions are informed by questions I routinely get from them and the general public. "When in doubt, use pinyin" but I am not in doubt. Anyway, please know that I'm not married to duplicate articles, I think it is nice to have someone else take an interest for a change and I will continue to consider the subject further. Cheers, Fire Star 14:35, 12 Oct 2004 (UTC)
Hi WhisperTo Me. The largest selling periodical in the English language on T'ai Chi, "T'ai Chi Magazine" by Wayfarer Publications and most other works published using Wade-Giles leave the apostrophes in. As well, most T'ai Chi schools using W-G leave the apostrophes in. I think that if we use pinyin, we should use pinyin, if we use W-G we should use W-G. I agree, however, there probably should be a compromise between those who can use romanizations correctly to represent Chinese and those who don't care. I'd like to propose basic pinyin without tone marks and W-G without diacritical marks and supernumerals but with apostrophes for the main body of our articles. The tone marks, diacritical marks and supernumerals should be included on the info box (which they are), but I agree they are too cumbersome for the regular text. The apostrophes, however, are included in the vast majority of English publications in my experience. How does that sound to you? Fire Star 20:34, 17 Oct 2004 (UTC)
Rudolf Hess
It's Hess in English, not HeB (I know that's an ex-tzet, but that's not how a typical English speaker will think of it. RickK 05:33, Oct 12, 2004 (UTC)
Subway/Underground
I think in a New York City article a reference to "subway" doesn't need an aside about the British English being "underground" to preserve the international character of the encyclopaedia (in American English, encyclopedia), as it breaks the flow and draws attention to itself. I think in a London article a reference to "underground" doesn't need an aside about the American English being "subway"... You get my drift. The anonymous editor was right in this instance. I have not reverted the edit. Wetman 23:51, 14 Oct 2004 (UTC)

Why did you add character names to the parenthesis at the beginning of the Shinidamachū, Tōtōsai, Sesshōmaru, and Kikyō articles? It seems a bit redundant to me. Josh | Talk 00:09, Oct 20, 2004 (UTC)

Please provide an edit summary. Thanks! Hyacinth 23:55, 30 Oct 2004 (UTC)
- According to Wikipedia:Edit summary: "Always fill the summary field is one of Wikipedia's guidelines. Even a short summary is better than no summary. Accurate summaries help people decide whether it is worthwhile for them to check a change. Summaries often pique the interest of Wikipedians with an expertise in the area. This may not be as necessary for "minor changes", but (e.g.) "fixed spelling" would be nice even then."
- So depending on your interpretation of "guideline" all or none. I try to provide an edit summary for all edits, but no one is perfect. Happy edits. Hyacinth 08:33, 31 Oct 2004 (UTC)

Article Licensing
Hi, I've started the Free the Rambot Articles Project which has the goals of getting users to multi-license all of their contributions that they've made to...
- ...all U.S. state, county, and city articles...
- ...all articles...
using the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike (CC-by-sa) version 1.0 and 2.0 Licenses or into the public domain if they prefer. The CC-by-sa license is a true free documentation license that is similar to the GFDL (which every contribution made to Wikipedia is licensed under), but it allows other projects, such as WikiTravel, to use our articles (See the Multi-licensing Guide for more information). Since you are among the top 1000 Wikipedians by edits, I was wondering if you would be willing to multi-license all of your contributions or at minimum those on the geographic articles. So far over 90% of people who have responded have done this.
- Nutshell: Wikipedia articles can be shared with any other GFDL project but open/free projects using the incompatible Creative Commons Licenses (e.g. WikiTravel) can't use our stuff and we can't use theirs. It is important to us that other free projects can use our stuff. So we use their licenses too.
To allow us to track those users who muli-license their contributions, many users copy and paste the DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual template (or MultiLicensePD for public domain) into their user page, but there are other templates for other options at Template messages/User namespace. The following examples could also copied and pasted into your user page:
- Option 1
- I agree to multi-license all my contributions, with the exception of my user pages, as described below:
- DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual
OR
- Option 2
- I agree to multi-license all my contributions to any U.S. state, county, or city article as described below:
- DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual
Or if you wanted to place your work into the public domain, you could replace DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual with MultiLicensePD. If you only prefer using the GFDL, I would like to know that too. Please let me know at my talk page what you think. It's important to know, even if you choose to do anything so I don't keep asking. -- Ram-Man 16:30, Dec 2, 2004 (UTC)
- Thanks for agreeing to multi-license. Due to the range of licensing choices available though, I need you to explicitly place the appropriate template (see above) on your user page or a page such as User:WhisperToMe/Copyrights. Then we will have your clear and explicit permission and can put this topic to rest. -- Ram-Man (comment (http://en.wikipedia.org/w/wiki.phtml?title=User_talk:Ram-Man&action=edit§ion=new)| talk) 05:46, Dec 3, 2004 (UTC)
- Your comment on the copyrights page is helpful. It might be nice if you made a note stating:
- User:Ram-Man has permission to multi-license using the following:
- DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual
- That would be a bit more clear. -- Ram-Man (comment (http://en.wikipedia.org/w/wiki.phtml?title=User_talk:Ram-Man&action=edit§ion=new)| talk) 13:53, Dec 3, 2004 (UTC)

Jewel of Four Souls references
I have noticed that you have been adding references to alternate names for the Jewel of Four Souls to some InuYasha articles. While it is fine to mention the names in the article that is about the jewel, referring to it as "Jewel of Four Souls (Shikon no Tama) a.k.a. the Shikon Jewel" on other pages seems a bit unwieldy to me. In any case, including alternate references on other pages should not be necessary, because "Jewel of Four Souls" is a well-known name. If someone does not know it, the reader can simply check the Jewel of Four Souls article. Josh 03:43, Nov 20, 2004 (UTC)

Hello
- Whisper, using the name table does not neccesarily means that it is for Korean. It can be used for any races as well, as I did not indicate anything that it is Korean. User:Chan Han Xiang
I agree, but having a name table would be even neater, and tells the names, now you removed it, how are the Wikipedians going to know their Kana names? If you add in within a sentence instead, it would be messier.
All right. Explain to me WHY YOU DO NOT LIKE MY IDEA. LETS ELABORATE THE POINTS SLOWLY. User:Chan Han Xiang I give you twenty minutes to explain starting from now, and give me good reasons why, otherwise I will show anymore hospitality towards you.
You are also attacking me. I follow the pattern based on Korean. You said: Now then, there's no need to post kana because Japanese speakers know it already, and it is irrelevant to English speakers. Without the kana, there's no point in putting kanji in a table.
Likewise, then why there is the Hangul and Hanja in the Korean name tables? Likewise, Korean speakers know Hanja already, and therefore Hanja is irrelavent to Hangul as Hangul is known as the standard script of Koreans. Without the Hangul, there's no point putting Hanja in the Table.
Okay. Now I see, the Koizumi table Not removed, and come back to the point. Do you agree with the table of names? Please Reply. Thanks. User:Chan Han Xiang
Look here. Here's a point. You said, people with only Japanese name should not have a Table of Names. Then why all Korean personalities in Wikipedia have a Table of Names? Please post my question to Wikipedia:Manual of Style (Japan-related articles) Anyway, I will be off in a week.
Thanks.

- Thanks for the link. I'm afraid I don't agree that this was much of a consensus. I'm going to remove the link again, and we can start a discussion about it on that Talk page if you like. I'll also try to find out whether there's a Wikipedia policy on this, as I assume there must be against publishing snuff movies and pornography. Slim 04:22, Dec 16, 2004 (UTC)
- Editors on one page are not bound by what editors on another page choose to do. In any event, I don't agree that you had reached consensus on this at Nick Berg. I saw lots of dissenters. The very last comment was "What consensus?" As I said, I'm going to make enquiries to find out what Wikipedia policy is on publishing snuff movies and pornography. I will report back on the Bigley Talk page. Slim 04:28, Dec 16, 2004 (UTC)
- All editors have the right to edit Wikipedia so long as they stick to its policies. A discussion on one page does not exercise control over what happens on any other page. As you say, these videos are primary source material, not normally allowed in Wikipedia under the "no original research" ruling. We are, as you say, an encylopedia, which means a tertiary source. We provide published analysis and comment, no more. You would not find a link to these videos, or even a description of them, in the Encylopedia Britannica. Anyway, I have placed a query on the mailing list, and I will report back on the Bigley Talk page when I get a response. Slim 04:40, Dec 16, 2004 (UTC)

Character in Yu-Gi-Oh!
Hi WhisperToMe:) I just notice something strange - why do you use Japanese names for article names of Yu-Gi-Oh! characters like Yugi Mutou, Katsuya Jonouchi, Anzu Mazaki, etc., but English anime names for others (e.g. Marik Ishtar, Ishizu Ishtar, Maximillion Pegasus)? (Isn't it better to use only one type of names......?) But anyway, please let me know your thoughts.
By the way, where do you think should I put the recently-added Yu-Gi-Oh! character profiles at? It seems that you prefer putting them at the bottom of the articles (am I right?), but in my opinion, putting a profile away from the top of an article is kind of weird......I prefer putting them somewhere at/near the top right-hand corners of the articles, but I also think character screenshots should be put there. What is your opinion? Please let me know.
Although a little too early, I wish you merry Christmas (Eve) and a happy New Year:)

I'm curious why you are creating Wade-Giles redirects for Zhang Yimou and others. Even Taiwan no longer uses Wade-Giles romanization, so most of these redirects will never be used. --- Curps 01:48, 24 Dec 2004 (UTC)
I don't see your comment...
And also, I've stated my case with facts. Quite frankly, you editing the article based on simply an opinion is not acceptable. If you can find some facts to support your opinion, feel free to post them on India's talk page, but simply changing an edit based on your feelingings is NPOV, and could be constued as vandalism. I'll hold off reverting your edit to see if you can produce said facts.
Edit: I see your comment now. GregNorc (talk)
Edit: Since you have not provided any facts to support your case, I'll be reverting your edit. If you continue to vandalize the page, I'll be forced to report you. GregNorc (talk)
So we cannot post anything except the data on a country?
Whatever. Continue and I will report you, I'm reverting your vandalism.
I've reported you for vandalism.
Articles on wikipedia consist of more than bare facts. If this was not the case, no text would be present, just the data table on the side of the page. I suggest you stop immediately, I am reverting India for the last time. GregNorc (talk)
I'm standing down...
Ground also agrees with you, so I won't revert the article again, since it appears my view is in the minority.
Image tag
Thanks for uploading Image:Moscow landsat.jpg. I notice it currently doesn't have an image copyright tag. Could you add one to let us know its copyright status? (You can use gfdl if you release it under the GFDL, or fairuse if you claim fair use, etc.) If you don't know what any of this means, just let me know where you got the images and I'll tag them for you. Thanks so much, Aqua 04:14, Dec 25, 2004 (UTC)
Reverting "naïve set theory" to "naive set theory" throughout
Hello. I'm reverting "naïve set theory" to "naive set theory" where you changed it recently. It appears you have searched for "naive" and have changed many instances to "naïve", apparently without considering the context in any way; for example, the title of the book by Halmos appears on the cover as "Naive Set Theory" -- this is not something you can change by fiat. I don't understand what is the point of this project, but outside of mathematics I don't really care. However, if you wish to change "naive set theory" to "naïve set theory" you'll need to take it up on talk:naive set theory where this has come up before. Please respond to my comments dated 2004/08/06 if you wish to pursue this course. Wile E. Heresiarch 05:16, 27 Dec 2004 (UTC)
- I've also moved naïve Bayesian classification to naive Bayes classifier and I'm reverting naïve/naive changes you made related to that article. See talk:naive Bayes classifier for the reasoning for the page move. Wile E. Heresiarch 05:24, 27 Dec 2004 (UTC)
- To respond to your messages on my talk page: (1) Re: standard English. I can't find any dictionaries or other sources which state that the correct spelling is "naïve". Every source I have found shows "naive" as the primary spelling, and shows "naïve" as an acceptable variation of "naive". It is clear that both spellings are acceptable. Naïve/naive isn't mentioned at Wikipedia:Manual of Style or American and British English differences. If you have some other sources I'd like to hear about it. (2) Agreed that the Google test only shows what's more common. However, since both spellings are acceptable and "naive" is more common, and much more common in a mathematics context, a crusade to change "naive" to "naïve" seems pointless at best. (3) Incidentally the two dots are a diaeresis, not an umlaut. The diaeresis shows (in French) that the i is pronounced as a separate syllable from the a. Umlaut is something else. Wile E. Heresiarch 06:17, 27 Dec 2004 (UTC)
- I have reverted a lot (maybe most) of the naïve/naive changes in mathematics articles. If you wish to reinstate them, please discuss the changes at talk:naive set theory and/or talk:naive Bayes classifier first. Thanks. Wile E. Heresiarch 06:59, 27 Dec 2004 (UTC)
- I hope that you will consider the effects of your actions before engaging again in shotgun edits. You may wish to consider that the widespread occurrence of something that seems wrong to you, perpetrated by many otherwise knowledgeable editors, may indicate the problem is elsewhere. Wile E. Blocks are not expiring
I'm posting this message on every admin who has made a block in the last few days. The title says it all really: because of a bug in the new software blocks are not expiring when their time is up. Until this is fixed can you get in the habit of manually unblocking a few everytime you block one. If everyone does this we'll be able to keep on top of things until the bug is sorted out. Note also that another bug is displaying indefinite blocks as expiring at the current time and date. obviously you don't want to unblock those. If you want to reply please do so here (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Administrators%27_noticeboard#Blocking_bug) Theresa Knott (The snott rake) 09:40, 27 Dec 2004 (UTC)
Quebec television series
The established consensus among Canadian posters -- by definition, the people who best know how to appropriately organize Canadian-related topics -- until now has been that Quebec and English Canadian topics should have separate articles. Most Quebec topics (eg. List of Quebec authors, List of Quebec musicians) are still separate, and unless you plan to go merging those, too, Quebec television series should not be treated any differently than those other topics. If you disagree with the consensus, there are avenues to express your concerns besides enforcing your individual preference over an already-established group consensus. For example, there's Wikipedia:Requests for comment. An RFC has been posted there; in the meantime, your most recent changes will be reverted and will stay reverted until the RFC process has been completed. Bearcat 03:35, 28 Dec 2004 (UTC)

In the 'popular manga' section of the manga article, I think it would be best to use the title by which the manga is most popularly known. For instance, Boys Over Flowers is, I believe, more commonly known as Hana Yori Dango at this point. I don't see why the English-equivalent name should always be used if the romanji name is better-known. --Xaliqen 18:21, 14 Feb 2005 (UTC)

Macrons in the Spanish Wikipedia
I thought I had answered a few days ago in your talk page in the Spanish Wikipedia, but it seems like my edit was never saved. As you can see in my Spanish user page, I'm no expert on Japanese, but as far as I know circumflexes are often used in Spanish as a substitute for macrons for Japanese names (as there are circumflexes but not macrons in the Spanish keyboard), although the usage may be more common in technical geeky stuff (as in manga and videogames)than in other contexts. I also chose to use macrons because of consistency with the article on Hepburn romanization. Other Wikipedias also use macrons for long vowels in Japanese, like the German Wikipedia and (sometimes) the French Wikipedia. Also, other special characters which are not in the Spanish keyboard appear in the names of a few articles, like the Polish Ł in złoty or the Czech Ř in Antonín Dvořák. Sabbut 15:08, 3 Mar 2005 (UTC)
I translated your userpage
I saw that you had a stub of an article on the French wikipedia for your userpage, so I translated your English page into French and posted it there. Why did you have one in the first place? The reason I did it was to reward such a prolific contributer -- people like you help make Wikipedia great! Keep up the good work! :) Zantastik 06:16, 10 Mar 2005 (UTC)
HTML code for "sup"2
If you just use the character ² directly, anyone editing the article from a Mac will inadvertently change it to a regular 2, since the character isn't in the Mac character set. The ² entity should be used instead to prevent this. Goplat 00:08, 14 Mar 2005 (UTC)
- I know it happens on classic Macs, not sure about OS X, but it's still a significant problem - I've seen this on quite a few articles. A lot of people use old OS's, I myself still use Windows 98. Goplat 00:34, 14 Mar 2005 (UTC)
- Browsers that truncate textareas to 32K are rare nowadays. Superscript 2 getting changed to a regular 2 is still common, Ahoerstemeier has fixed about 80 occurences of this in the last week. Goplat 03:31, 14 Mar 2005 (UTC)
Kana
I see, I realised that you removed the Kana version of Kuan Yin. But in the Thousand Character Classic, the Kana version is accepted. Can you provide a good and friendly explanation on your removal act? Thanks.
But Kuan Yin is different: all scripts are shown. Put it up then, like Thousand Character Classic. Otherwise, I think it is better to remove the Kana there as well. What do you think? Can you comprehend what I'm trying to decribe?
Then how about those in the Thousand Character Classic? I know that Kana is not often used in people's name, but this is a different case.
What's your decision -- reinstate the Kana only in Kuan Yin, based on the Thousand Character Classictable, or remove everything?
Kuan Yin is also listed as Kana -- use the yahoo or google search and count the hits, just like the Thousand Character Classic. Do you want to put it up again, or leave it like this? I do not refer to Japanese personalities.

Statue of Liberty
I am removing it because it is a horribly ugly image, and because the article as it stands is way, way, way too long and there needs to me content removed. I think the image of the statue of liberty in the harbour is a much better image, as it covers its location in New York harbour, as well as the Statue of Liberty itself. I think such a detailed image works better on the Statue of Liberty article, and the other image also does not fit very well in any location in the article. That's why I'm removing it. Tokyo
- Thanks for telling me. However, many Towns and cities show a map, many show a map and some kind of symbol. The Tokyo Tower is not the official seal or sign or symbol of Tokyo, so if something should be there it's the map. Maybe both, the map and the Tower, could be included, see e.g. New York. ben 16:17, Mar 20, 2005 (UTC)
- I think your intuition is right and I trust your judgement there as you are one of the main contributors to the Tokyo article. The only thing I don't like is that the map is out of sight completely and hidden between all those other pictures. Would be nice to have it stick out more prominently. ben 16:32, Mar 20, 2005 (UTC)
- Why did you upload it? Didn't you see my change history at the pictures, the big and the small? Read it. The big one loads very slowly, so I put a downsized picture in the article and put a link to the bigger one. ben 16:56, Mar 20, 2005 (UTC)
- Are you still there? ben 18:39, Mar 20, 2005 (UTC)
- I explained everything here and on the talk page of the picture. Again: the big picture took a very long time to be displayed, even longer than a minute. With software-reduced resolution like image:..|npx it doesn't become faster most probably slower because of the computation for downsizing. That's why I uploaded a smaller pic and linked it to the bigger one, just as I explained before. Ok? Now... If you think that the big picture is fast enough, then it's perfectly ok for me to say it's just my connection, my browser, whatever, I leave it to you. I was just hoping for some comment on that.... ok? ben 06:24, Mar 21, 2005 (UTC)
- I have 5,5 mb/s at the moment (which is probably more than you have). Maybe wikipedia was just overloaded with queries yesterday night when i uploaded the pics. Now the loading ok and fast enough. ben 06:33, Mar 21, 2005 (UTC)

Image:Yami.sk.jpg
Greeting, Whisper. You tagged Image:Yami.sk.jpg as fair use, and noted that you didn't think it should be deleted on IFD. The trouble is, fair use can only be claimed when there is a use. (If the image were used in an article on the character, that would be a fair use; if you wrote a video game and used the artwork as one of the characters, that would not be a fair use.) Since the image is currently not used in any articles, a fair use claim doesn't really apply. Is there an article you think it should be in? – Quadell (talk) (sleuth) 00:20, Mar 23, 2005 (UTC)

Tokyo image
Tokyo is a prefecture, not a city. All the other prefectures have the map at the top instead of an image. I'm actually in favor of putting an image at the top. We even discussed it and took a vote earlier this year. But few were interested and we agreed with the status quo. I put the image at the top of Shiga Prefecture, but someone put it down. So Tokyo will have to conform to the other prefectures unless there is agreement that we can have an image at the top for all prefectures. Photojpn.org 02:49, 22 Apr 2005 (UTC)
- We discussed it here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WP:JAWNB#Images_on_prefectures
You are welcome to bring up the subject again. If there is consensus for putting the image at the top for all the 47 prefectures, then fine with me. BTW, that Tokyo image, I don't like it so much. Tokyo Tower is ugly and not a beloved symbol of Tokyo. No temple can symbolize Tokyo either. The Imperial Palace would be suitable, but the one we have now does not show the entire double arches of the bridge. Photojpn.org 04:46, 22 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Are you talking about the Changi Airport thing? I'm sorry but it's so true that codeshares should not be listed. WhisperToMe 20:05, 26 May 2005 (UTC)
codeshares IS RECOGNISED by changi and changi does recognise the iportance of these codeshare airlines why shldnt you...you are really a vandaliser and how do you explain the fact that TAIWAN AIRLINES and AMOY AIRLINES are in there...wtf do these airlines even exist? clearly the PERSON who changed it is some american sympathiser of TAIWAN INDEPENDENCE...what do you think?
Can you please talk in straight English?
Think of it this way. Just because American Airlines has a deal with another airline to take AA pax to Singapore does not mean that AA actually flies into Changi. For that reason, AA should be kept off of the list, because it can wrongly imply that AA actually flies into Singapore when they do not. WhisperToMe 05:59, 29 May 2005 (UTC)
WHISPERTOME I AM TALKING ABOUT THE SUPOOSEDLY EXISTENCE OF TAIWAN AIRLINES AND AMOY AIRLINES. DO THESE AIRLINES EVEN EXIST AND FLY TO CHANGI. BEFORE YOU DELETE THOSE CODESHARE AIRLINES DELETE THOSE AIRLINES THAT ARE ========FICTIONAL AND NON EXISTENCE======= DON'T YOU AGREE THAT THE CHANGE OF CHINA AIRLINES TO TAIWAN AIRLINES IS THE WORK OF SOME AMERICAN SYMPATHISER OF TAIWAN INDEPENDENCE? CAN YOU CHANGE IT BACK RIGHT NOW????
And when you say it wrongly implies that AA flies to Changi, you don't have a strong case because the very word...let me bold it for you ===CODESHARE=== is placed beside the airlines and that airlines does fly into Changi.Stop making a fool out of yourself thank you.btw carefully read what i wrote on TAIWAN AIRLINES/CHINA AIRLINES
And what if someone doesn't know what a codeshare is? If codeshares must be listed, they should be separate from the airlines that actually fly into Changi.
Since China Airlines is still China Airlines, I changed it back. WhisperToMe 17:12, 30 May 2005 (UTC)

Map coverage for the Houston Metropolitan Area
I was wondering if you could help replace the image for the area coverage of the Houston Metropolitan Area. I do not know how to do it nor do I know where to get the image. As of 2003, the metropolitan area covers 10 counties instead of the map showing only eight counties. Any help is appreciated!

June from Saint Seiya
Hello. I noticed you edited the Saint Seiya article and added an accent to June (one of the Bronze Saints), making it "Juné". I was just curious. Where does that come from? Because I've never seen anything like that. Perhaps it's something from the American Shonen Jump, but I wouldn't know. I also don't know about the Jabu/Jab thing.
