Carroll is a town located in Chautauqua County, New York. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 3,635.
The Town of Carroll was incorporated in 1825. This town is in the southeast corner of Chautauqua County.

Geography
According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 86.4 km² (33.4 mi²). 86.4 km² (33.4 mi²) of it is land and none of the area is covered with water.
The south town line of Carroll is the state boundary of Pennsylvania.
Demographics
As of the census2 of 2000, there are 3,635 people, 1,364 households, and 1,002 families residing in the town. The population density is 42.1/km² (108.9/mi²). There are 1,440 housing units at an average density of 16.7/km² (43.2/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 99.04% White, 0.14% African American, 0.22% Native American, 0.14% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.17% from other races, and 0.30% from two or more races. 0.47% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 1,364 households out of which 34.3% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 60.9% are married couples living together, 8.7% have a female householder with no husband present, and 26.5% are non-families. 22.7% of all households are made up of individuals and 13.6% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.61 and the average family size is 3.05.
In the town the population is spread out with 25.9% under the age of 18, 6.4% from 18 to 24, 26.4% from 25 to 44, 23.9% from 45 to 64, and 17.4% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 40 years. For every 100 females there are 94.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 89.9 males.
The median income for a household in the town is $38,313, and the median income for a family is $43,750. Males have a median income of $34,766 versus $21,620 for females. The per capita income for the town is $16,828. 3.4% of the population and 2.7% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total population, 1.6% of those under the age of 18 and 7.0% of those 65 and older are living below the poverty line.

- Fentonville -- A hamlet on Route 53 in the southwest corner of the town.

The Town of Poland is to the north. The Town of Kiantone is to the west. The Town of South Valley in Cattaraugus County, New York is on the east. Warren County, Pennsylvania is across the south town line.
