Kiantone, New York is a town located in Chautauqua County, New York. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 1,385.
The Town of Kiantone was incorporated in 1853. The north border of the town is at the City of Jamestown, New York.
Geography
According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 48.0 km² (18.5 mi²). 47.8 km² (18.5 mi²) of it is land and 0.2 km² (0.1 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 0.38% water.
The south town line is the border with Pennsylvania.
Demographics
As of the census2 of 2000, there are 1,385 people, 529 households, and 413 families residing in the town. The population density is 29.0/km² (75.0/mi²). There are 541 housing units at an average density of 11.3/km² (29.3/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 98.84% White, 0.29% African American, 0.14% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.14% from other races, and 0.58% from two or more races. 0.14% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
