Bullhead City is a city located on the Colorado River in Mohave County, Arizona, roughly 100 miles (160.9 km) south of Las Vegas, Nevada, and directly across the River from Laughlin, Nevada. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 33,769.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 119.0 km² (46.0 mi²). 117.1 km² (45.2 mi²) of it is land and 1.9 km² (0.7 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 1.59% water.
Demographics
As of the censusTemplate:GR of 2000, there are 33,769 people, 13,909 households, and 9,110 families residing in the city. The population density is 288.3/km² (746.6/mi²). There are 18,430 housing units at an average density of 157.3/km² (407.5/mi²). The racial makeup of the city is 85.57% White, 1.01% Black or African American, 1.34% Native American, 1.00% Asian, 0.07% Pacific Islander, 8.25% from other races, and 2.75% from two or more races. 20.16% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 13,909 households out of which 24.7% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 49.1% are married couples living together, 11.1% have a female householder with no husband present, and 34.5% are non-families. 25.3% of all households are made up of individuals and 11.2% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.42 and the average family size is 2.86.
In the city the population is spread out with 22.5% under the age of 18, 7.3% from 18 to 24, 24.5% from 25 to 44, 26.6% from 45 to 64, and 19.2% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 42 years. For every 100 females there are 98.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 96.2 males.
The median income for a household in the city is $30,221, and the median income for a family is $33,914. Males have a median income of $23,617 versus $19,564 for females.
