I have no issue with a Category:Milnes. I didn't do that myself simply because (1) I wasn't sure I could just create a catefory and (2) I'm not sure how useful it is given that there may only be a dozen Milnes (at a stretch) that ever make it into Wikipedia. But thanks, anyway.

Well I figured I could certify the Kapil Rfc as I was the victim of his ire. Gonna watch me closely now, are you? Ooooooh the communist bravado. Have it your way, at least I'm trying to get a NPOV on Fidel Castro while Grace Note keeps acting like a 6-year old. And yes, if I get banned for whatever reason I'll probably just keep reverting it until it's more neutral, it's absolutely preposterous that the positive things muttered about Castro can just remain there (as encyclopaedic content) without so much as a good (neutral) source. Hallo Viajero, ik reageer nu pas omdat mijn internetaansluiting thuis afgesloten is :'-( Ik zit nu in een of ander internetcafé. Ik vind het leuk dat je geïnteresseerd bent in Indonesië. Ja ik spreek Nederlands en ik spreek het eigenlijk beter dan Engels, daarom schrijf ik in het Nederlands :-) Bij Engels moet ik nadenken. Zelf ben ik geboren in Indonesie, maar toen ik 10-11 jaar oud was ging ik mee met mijn ouders naar Nederland. Daarom kan ik Nederlands spreken. In Indonesie zijn er (helaas) niet zoveel mensen meer die Nederlands kunnen spreken. Ze leren liever Engels hoewel het Nederlands nog altijd tot verbeelding spreekt voor veel mensen. Er zijn veel mensen die Nederlands studeren op de universiteiten. Verder is het vak Nederlands verplicht voor rechtenstudenten omdat de Indonesische wetgevingg gebaseerd is op het Romeinse Nederlandse koloniale recht.

Rijsttafel is inderdaad een Nederlandse uitvinding :-) In Indonesie wordt het bijna nooit zo opgediend hoewel de keuken van Padang (Minangkabau of West Sumatra) het dichtst bij in de buurt komt. Bij een Padangs restaurant krijgen alle klanten alle schoteltjes voor zich geserveerd en betaalt hij of zij alleen de gerechten die h/zij genomen heeft. OK tot volgende keer! Lima districts

Hi Viajero. Thanks, I like to follow that general rule, too. However, I renamed the district articles for the sake of uniformity. In many provinces outside of the Lima Province, districts are not the smallest subdivision, there are even smaller political subdivisions called ciudades, caceríos or anexos, which often have the same name as the districts they belong to. For example, the city of Huancayo does not cover all of Huancayo district, therefore it is necessary to create different articles; in this case the most logical solution would be naming the city's article as "Huancayo" and the district's article as "Huancayo District".

Since in Spanish the district's full names are Distrito de ... and since it would be confusing to have district articles with unstandardized names ("Villa el Salvador" & "Huancayo District", both being articles about districts) I decided to standardize the names of the ca. 1820 districts in Peru and make all of them end with the word District. As I said before, the districts' official names in Spanish (Distrito de Villa El Salvador) should also be taken into consideration. If all articles were to have the simplest name possible, then why do many articles about US counties (for example, Wakulla County, Florida) have such "long" names? Probably because their official full name is x County (article Wakulla is empty). The same thing happens here in Peru with districts. By the way, users in the Spanish-language wikipedia have taken the same step and renamed all articles to Distrito de x'. Deleting subcats

I think the key is nominating multiple categories simultaneously (as I've done for the terrorist cats). Some of them weren't subcats of cat:terrorism, and it is not always applicable to automatically delete subcats on all occasions. Although a few months ago I must admit I redirected a few opera articles from their common English names to their original titles, I have now seen the light. Fujimori & Alan Garcia

FWIW, I want you to know that I didn't come up with that text about Fujimori wanting to arrest Alan G; it was in the article that Messhermit spun off -- I assume he added it -- and I only did him the courtesy of restoring all of his text to the AF article. • I believe that it is almost universal in underdeveloped countries (with a few exceptions) that the outgoing leaders have no support and most citizens would like to see them in jail, because they end up not delivering on their promises (as most politicians). And then, after a few short years and another underperforming leader, old leaders have a shot to come back. I certainly appreciate the sentiments ... it's just a strange time, I think. Even after all this media coverage about the Qur'an thing, I saw some on-line poll today that said that 67% of the public had no problem with what had been happening at Gitmo. That kind of willful suspension of disbelief makes me gasp.

I think perhaps there is a mindset that cries "anti-Americanism" in the face of any problem like this, but I liked to think such people were on the fringe... I also like to think that great figures from our past like John Quincy Adams Lincoln and Harry Truman would have been proud be called "anti-Americans" by such, and would draw the line when people are treated like animals, have their religion desecrtated, and are beaten to death by our military.

You've seen the Bagram article, I know, but ...note too that US citizens have been abucted and tortured now under the connivance of the FBI...

Konspire2b

Just wanted to ask about your recatorisation of Konspire2b from Peer to peer to File sharing programs -- my understanding is that the two categories are orthogonal (i.e. centralised programs can share files (e.g. FTP) and P2P systems exist that don't share files, (e.g. DNS)) -- shouldn't we list both categories rather than choosing one or the other? the way you do it makes it look like its in the footnote. most of all, your last edit "viajero" when you restored it to Hajor's deleted a huge section of footnotes of a bibliography that encourages people to read more. Are you guys working for the Mexican government or what? Why are you defending the murderers? Are you one of those that calls the mothers crying babies, who should preoccupy themselves with other issues other than the murder of their daughters. How would you feel if your daughter was murdered and the police just photocopied the newspaper article and inserted it into your daughters case file and called it a day.

I'm not even telling the audience exactly everything I believe about what is going on. I'm just hinting them to investigate on their own.

This stuff about "rehashing" that fox keeps saying is ridiculous. Somebody is misinforming the president. The murders are totally happening. Tell that to the mothers and children of the women that have been killed this year. tell that to the 7 year old girl that was murdered. The women are being consumed the way we consume the products from maquiladoras, and then dispose of them as if they were trash. The non profits and activists that have come up since the deaths of the women are being accused of scaring people into living in Juarez, they blame the mothers, not the government or the murderers themselves. I know the police has been trying to help, but who is to say that they have not botched investigations? The sad truth is that they have. In many cases, they have the DNA of the murderers and still yet they can't come up with who did it? How is this possible? You tell me?

I am intrigued by your perception of me. Probably spot on. Things have calmed down anyway at Rios Montt. I felt that eventually 172 allowed me to add my material. I am as POV as the next person, just not normally with Latin American politics. Those November 2003 elections had a profound impact on my life, so maybe that is a part of why I have strong feelings around Montt. Re: the human rights piece: I'm sure you're right. Yet if there is a hard news event to connect these things to, there is sometimes a better chance for high visibility. (We had POV battles at the Qur'an desecration page, too, but facts and new revelations got in the way of the disruptions.) I guess I'm still waiting for another topic offering similar clarity, similarly demonstrable evidence of contempt for international law, and similar relevance to the average curious person. I have to admit I'm more in favour of removing spam links than most people, but your 1 year block on User:62.195.252.195 for consistently adding a spam link to Amsterdam caught my attention. Hi, as you can see from that users contributions [3] (http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special:Contributions&target=62.195.252.195), their only activity on Wikipedia over the past year has been to try to add that link to the Amsterdam page; by my count twenty times. Each time it gets reverted by another editor. There was also some discussion about this issue on the Talk page in which he/she took part, but evidently in vain. That's what I figured. I think you were right to block - its just that a full year block is a longer than the arbitration committee typically hands out, even for cases of egregious disruption and vandalism. The category Category:Opera by language as well as its all empty child categories are currently up for speedy deletions. Also, there is currently a discussion about merging Category:Operas down into Category:Opera taking place at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Opera, among all the other discussions. Heard an interview with author today ... quite an important piece of work, solidly researched, and destined to shift some paradigms. (Whose, I don't know, but ... mine were certainly shifted.)

Image left/right

Ok, let's stop an edit war. I place images on the left, expecilly if the image stays at the top of the article, because it is easier for the reader to find the beginning of the text. Nothing to do with anyone we know, but rather some newborn vandal, who has taken it into his/her head that the information presented here should not be seen by WP users.

Quite a creative series of Daliesque renames and redirects, with a clear purpose.

Would you consider renaming to the name above, and perhaps locking the page until this storm passes?

Many, instead of implying all?

I note in Corporate media you removed the word "some" from "Corporate media is a term used by some media commentators........" It now reads as if all US media commentators use the term to imply that the mainstream media is controlled by large multinationals (which manipulate and filter out news that does not fit their corporate agenda). Do you think media commentators working for Rupert Murdoch's media empire (one example) would agree with such an assertion? Operettas

What's your opinion on operettas? I view them as a subcategory of operas, but User:DrG has changed the category hierarchy of Category:Operetta to be a separate entity and has also created a new wikiproject (Wikipedia:WikiProject Operetta (of which he is the sole member) to deal with them.
