I am Chris. I am 25 years old and live somewhere in the west coast of the United States. I am fairly new to Wikipedia and plan on submitting contributions as time permits. I'm just getting used to this place.. :)

My primary interests are languages and linguistics. I speak four languages rather well. English & Tagalog are my native languages. The other two languages I am conversant in are Spanish & French (especially Joual).
I am also very much into Catalan, which I have been casually studying on and off for many years but only started to study it seriously since 2001. I have also studied, at one time or another: Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and more. I am trying to learn German at the moment.
The language families that interest me the most are Romance languages and the Austronesian Languages (particularly the ones in the Philippines). Last year I completed a grammatical outline on Tausug (spoken in Sulu), which should be published sometime this year.

I'm also an avid genealogist - I am of Philippines (75%) and European (25%) ancestry. My Filipino ancestors came from regions where the Bikol, Tagalog, Cebuano, Ibanag, and Pangasinan languages are currently spoken. My European ancestors came from England (Cornwall), Switzerland, Germany, Ireland, and Spain.
