Michigan State Highway 99

Michigan State Highway 99 or M-99 is a north-south highway in the U.S. state of Michigan that runs between Lansing and the Ohio state line. Its northern terminus is Interstate 496, the R.E. Olds Freeway. At the southern terminus on the Ohio state line near Pioneer, Ohio, it continues as Ohio State Highway 15. All of M-99 is surface road, and some divided highway exists between Lansing and Eaton Rapids.
It has junctions with Interstate 96 on the south side of Lansing, Michigan State Highway 50 in Eaton Rapids, Interstate 94 near Albion, Michigan State Highway 60 in Homer, Michigan State Highway 49 in Litchfield, U.S. Highway 12 in Jonesville, and Michigan State Highway 34 near Osseo. It also goes through Hillsdale.
The Ohio Turnpike is easily accessible via Ohio 15 a few miles south of the state line.
M-99 is not particularly straight or direct, so it is not a favorite route for those who like expressway speeds, though it is a pleasant drive if one is not in a hurry.
Historical Note: In the 1930s, M-99 was designated on a gravel road in the Upper Peninsula from US-2 (just east of Gulliver) to Port Inland on Lake Michigan.
