X-COM Edit
Howdy Kizor! Thanks for your changes to the X-COM article. Thanks to your edit, it now reads much better. Hard to beleive you're only 13! I know I wasn't that eloquent at that age. Cheers! —Frecklefoot 14:21, May 5, 2004 (UTC)
- Diplomatically omitting to mention that the amount of copyedits you had to do to said edit probably outnumbers the amount of words I changed. :-) Also, I still haven't managed to write comprehensibly to my user page? Damn. I was 13 when I came up with the last version of the nick (I think) - some six years ago. -- Kizor 21:54, 5 May 2004 (UTC)
Looking at the diff between the two versions (your edit version and after my copyedit), it looks like I changed a lot, but actually my changes were fairly minor. If you looked at both versions side by side you'd see very few differences. The diff s/w just doesn't diff it correctly for your vs. my edit. Hmm. It's usually spot-on. Anyway, thanks again. Your changes made a big difference in the article. —Frecklefoot 13:47, May 6, 2004 (UTC)
Don't worry, I haven't been following you around :-). Recently, I've made lots of spelling corrections by searching with a list. Maximus Rex 22:42, 9 Jul 2004 (UTC)
- Thanks. Didn't think you'd have, what I did think is that you're going to give an answer that'll make me look like a n00b. Which was of course correct. -- Kizor 10:59, 14 Jul 2004 (UTC)
Hi Kizor! Thank you for the message and tips, etc! Will follow as soon as I can. : )

I was probably too hasty in adding that POV notice. When I edited, it struck me as being praise for the artist's style. In cold sober daylight, though, it doesn't seem that POv. It actually doesn't make much sense at all—what's a "srewth design"? — Gwalla | Talk 19:14, 18 Aug 2004 (UTC)
- What it was intened to be is calling the design nifty, or clever, or well-done, or suchlike. In reality, it more than likely is the curse of ESL striking again. Feel free to modify. -- Kizor 01:03, 19 Aug 2004 (UTC)
Edit summaries
Hey, I noticed some of your edit summaries are nonsense phrases, displayed in all caps. Even if the edit you make is minor and doesn't really change the article, try to give some idea of what you did in the edit summary, rather than nonsense. It goes a long way towards helping other editors out. —siroχo 23:09, Aug 28, 2004 (UTC)
- You make a good point, of course. In my defense, I've been using it only with minor, non-controversial changes that would be clearly visible in the edit history should anyone need to have that idea of what I've done. And it stops global warming and uses the world's nuclear arsenal to fuel Wiki servers. Since you're not encumbered with my sense of humour, thus making you a good test case, what would restricting its use to discussion sound like? The changes made to those tend to be rather obvious. -- Kizor 00:36, 29 Aug 2004 (UTC)
- For the record, I've since decided on this policy as the optimium mix of unobtrusiveness and stupidity. -- Kizor 08:13, 18 Sep 2004 (UTC)

Exploding whale renomination
Hi Kizor! After several more objections were resolved, I've renominated this article. Could you revote? Thanks mate. - Ta bu shi da yu 16:55, 10 Sep 2004 (UTC)

Just wanted to say I'm a big fan of your current Mother Brain edit. Good work! :) –Andre (talk) 16:57, 17 Sep 2004 (UTC)
- Well then. I'm pleasantly shocked. -- Kizor 08:13, 18 Sep 2004 (UTC)
You found me
So you really ran into me at Wikipedia. I have been a Wikipedian for one year, since July 2003. Do you remember from some message board or a guest book? (Tedius Zanarukando, 24 Oct 2004).
- FF:WA. Didn't have much contact, but then I'm a bit of a recluse even there.-- Kizor 22:46, 24 Oct 2004 (UTC)
Thanks for fixing those brackets
Thank you for fixing those brackets - with the other three, one of them had already been fixed, and for the two linguistic ones I added <nowiki> tags as they had a deliberate [ in them to indicate how those sounds were pronounced. All the best, Nickj 00:57, 29 Oct 2004 (UTC)
Typo fairies
Thanks for the explanation of Finnish typo faries in the typo fairy article. I didn't know that, and it's always cool to have cross-cultural info in the Wikipedia. Thanks! JesseW 19:54, 31 Oct 2004 (UTC)
Thanks for sorting out userpage vandalism
Lol I only left the page for a day and it gets defaced. Ah well at least it was an IP-number coward rather than an actual wikipedian. Cheers for reverting it anyway :P --Cynical 19:35, 1 Nov 2004 (UTC)
The Humungous Image Tagging Project
Hi. You've helped with the Wikipedia:WikiProject Wiki Syntax, so I thought it worth alerting you to the latest and greatest of Wikipedia fixing project, User:Yann/Untagged Images, which is seeking to put copyright tags on all of the untagged images. There are probably, oh, thirty thousand or so to do (he said, reaching into the air for a large figure). But hey: they're images ... you'll get to see lots of random pretty pictures. That must be better than looking for at at and the the, non? You know you'll love it. best wishes --Tagishsimon (talk)
Urgent: Vote re Ciz
The arbcom post over Ciz, the guy who vandalised FinalGamers page, is being processed shortly. See User:FT2/Arbitration re Ciz. Can you indicate on my talk page User:FT2 whether you would support a full wikipedia ban for Ciz? Thanks FT2 21:10, Dec 16, 2004 (UTC)
To clarify, no, I'm not interested in forced votes. I asked whether you were interested or not since at the time, there were 8 "yes" and 2 who hadnt said, and I needed urgently to know if the correct term was going to be "unanimous" or "majority" who asked for a ban. In the end it was already "majority". That's all - hope it reassures. I have no interest in forcing any vote into any category, just wanted to be sure what the sentiment was so that I represented it accurately on others behalf in the matter. FT2 09:50, Dec 19, 2004 (UTC)
FinalGamer here - thanks for letting me know I'm a full Wikipedian. Love your user Page layout by the way! Question, am I the only guy to have his user page vandalized by Ciz? FinalGamer 13:56 GMT, 20 May, 2005
sandbox
thank you for preserving the sandbox. I've been working trying to put order to the sandbox! Let's make the sandbox wackier! __earth 07:31, Dec 19, 2004 (UTC)
- You're welcome. It is always a pleasure to further the cause of insanity. However, I disagree with you about your other points. The sandbox is a nexus of disorder on the Wikipedia that draws much of the chaos inherent in Wiki sites to it. Attempting to create lasting order in it would be like building a sand castle under an open faucet. Furthermore, think of the consequences if you should succeed in making permanent changes to what is innately ever-shifting. You would most likely break its function as an attractor of weirdness, leaving all the disorder and the newbies and the strangeness flow upon the unsuspecting masses! Think of the horror! -- Kizor 07:46, 19 Dec 2004 (UTC)

That picture was drawn by my daughter. She's quite gratified by your reaction. In my humble opinion, its far from her best work. -- Kbh3rd 00:44, 24 Dec 2004 (UTC)

Ooh, pretty WikiFlower. Thanks, I hadn't gotten one of those yet. And good work on your part too. (and while I'm here, have a wonderful christmas!) --fvw* 12:44, 2004 Dec 24 (UTC)
Potter Project
Nice job on Azkaban. FYI: I checked the novels and dementor is not capitalized, whereas Muggle and Squib are. I realize that the many of the articles don't reflect that (yet!) ;). neatnate 05:29, 13 Jan 2005 (UTC)
- Thanks for that - I was a bit worried that I was going around fixing things that didn't need to be fixed. And I'll take note of the capitalization. -- Kizor 18:40, 13 Jan 2005 (UTC)
You're not alone in wanting to work on the Potter coverage, I'm currently making the HP areas of wiki one of my areas to focus in. So cheers for that. I was also hoping you might could see if there's some references available for the Hogwarts headache article. Cheers :-) EvilPhoenix
Schlockitude
Your contributions show that you haven't been around here much lately, so you may have missed my annoyed comment on Talk:Schlock Mercenary.
I suggested that fans start their own wiki for it. I'd just like you to know that I wasn't kidding and wasn't just trying to get rid of the material. The level of detail needed to cover Schlock Mercenary for fans is inappropriate for Wikipedia. By having information for the general reader here, and a detailed fan guide elsewhere, all interested parties can be satisfied.
I'm thinking of something along the lines of the Homestar Runner Wiki. They've got nine hundred articles about various bits of trivia about Homestar Runner there. There's also about a dozen articles here on Wikipedia covering major aspects of the cartoons for the ordinary non-fan reader. -- Cyrius|✎ 02:24, 27 Jan 2005 (UTC)
- You probably didn't glean it from my other comments, but I am a fan of the comic, and have been reading it since almost the beginning. While I agree that Homestar Runner has a much larger fanbase than Schlock Mercenary, I have to disagree on the amount of content. Detailed Schlock info could easily spread across a thousand separate articles.
- My goal here is to balance the needs of two different groups: the fans, who need a specialist work; and the normal Wikipedia readers, who need a more bird's eye view. An article about the Princess Tyola (http://www.schlockmercenary.com/d/20011001.html) would be welcomed in a dedicated SM Wiki, but on Wikipedia even mentioning it would be overly specific. One
manwiki cannot serve twomastersaudiences, or something like that. -- Cyrius|✎ 18:52, 28 Jan 2005 (UTC)
Life of Riley
They'll probably be especially annoyed that the band vanity article made it in before the TV and radio shows of the same name. ☺ If you want to warn people that vanity articles may well receive short shrift, just stick a {{music-importance}} on the article and a {{vanity|Life of Riley}} on the author's talk page. However, if you look at the text that is displayed above the edit box when starting a new article, you'll find that there already is a prominent warning about this sort of thing. Page moves
I'm not sure how to find out who did some page moves. Try asking at WP:AN/I under the header of this latest case. I do think it's likely someone noticed it on recent changes, so checking the admin noticeboard (WP:AN and WP:VIP are your best bet at tracking the perp. Mgm|(talk) 15:12, Feb 19, 2005 (UTC)

Mouse Pad
Caught your proposal on Eloquence's Talk page. Where did you go with it? I have some applicable skill and the idea amuses me. — Xiong (talk) 23:15, 2005 Mar 18 (UTC)
Squirt me a text listing of the things you thought should go there; don't worry if it's incomplete, I just want an idea of what you thought. I'll see where I can take it. If I understand you correctly, the purpose of the pad is just to provide a ready printed reference; the actual location on the pad of each item is unimportant. Correct? — Xiong (talk) 00:43, 2005 Mar 19 (UTC)
Correct. I'll get on it once I finish this essay and the next. -- Kizor 07:35, 19 Mar 2005 (UTC)

What Wikipedia is not
Greetings. You nuked my note at What Wikipedia is not a bit back, the one saying that Wikipedia has a lot of subjects ordinary encyclopedias wouldn't touch with a 10-foot pole. Perhaps it was badly phrased, but I maintain that the point is valid - not a lot of traditional 'pedias feature extensive coverage on different aspects of sado-masochism, for instance, and quite a few people wouldn't expect this one to. What's your opinion on how it should be worded, or should we just chuck the subject out altogether? -- Kizor 17:48, 12 May 2005 (UTC)
- I think the wording could have been better but I do agree with the sentiment. The use of terms like "wouldn't touch with a ten foot pole" seems to impute an opinion to Encarta's editors and Britannica's that I don't think can be justified by their statements. What I would favor is something like "The range of subjects covered by Wikipedia is dictated by its editors, some of whom have interests not normally covered in other encyclopedias; if people do something, and others write about it, you should probably not be surprised to find a Wikipedia article about it." I think that's far too wordy and needs to be trimmed severely, but it's a first cut of how I think the piece should go. --Tony Sidaway|Talk 21:04, 12 May 2005 (UTC)
Harlequin fetus
In one of you talk entries, you state that you have seen an article about an 18 year old harlequin. Could you post that link?
