Welcome

Hello, welcome to Wikipedia.

Here are some tasks you can do:

You might find these links helpful in creating new pages or helping with the above tasks: How to edit a page, How to write a great article, Naming conventions, Manual of Style. You should read our policies at some point too.

If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. If you made any edits before you got an account, you might be interested in assigning those to your username. I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian!

  • You can sign your name using three tildes, like this: ~~~. If you use four, you can add a datestamp too.
  • If you ever think a page or image should be deleted, please list it at the votes for deletion page. There is also a votes for undeletion page if you want to retrieve something that you think should not have been deleted.

Again, welcome! - Meelar 15:06, 23 Jan 2004 (UTC)

Thanks for the welcome, and the useful links. I'm not too sure if this is the best way to reply to a message, but since it's my user talk page i guess i can't go wrong! Akadruid 12:37, 27 Jan 2004 (UTC)

FMA

I think I may have NPOV'd your concerns with the Federal Marriage Amendment. Davodd 19:34, Feb 18, 2004 (UTC)

Nice work, thank you! I have removed the NPOV message - the article now appears NPOV. Your edit was just what this article needed, and something I could not have done, since I know nothing about the subject! akaDruid 10:14, 19 Feb 2004 (UTC)

WikiProject Automobiles

Thank you for the invitation to WikiProject Automobiles, I'll get on the E-type this afternoon as soon as I check my facts. --Hcheney 11:46, 3 Mar 2004 (UTC)

Welcome aboard! See what you think of my propsed layout at Wikipedia:WikiProject Automobiles/Layouts. cheers. akaDruid 21:29, 3 Mar 2004 (UTC)

Hi!

The WikiProject Automobiles sounds like a great idea. Would like to join the the group. Seems as if there ist mostly knowledge/interest of German, British and US cars in the group, so I'll bring in some more French Cars (but also more German cars)...

BTW: Seems to me, that old cars are somehow underrepresented in Wikipedia, e.g. I'm really wondering why there is nearly no information about the VW Type 2 in Wikipedia, which is IMHO as important as the Type 1 aka VW Beetle. I would start that page, but wonder, how the page should be named. Is "VW" or "Volkswagen" as prefix prefered? Shall I call the suffix "Type 2" (which would be exact), "Transporter" (which is the official name, but also is still used for more modern variants like the forth and fifth generation, which are no more "Type 2"), "VW-Bus" (with dash and without further prefix), like it was called in many countries or "VW Bully", which also was a popular nickname for the Type 2. Especially for the english Wikipedia, this probably also depends on how international the names are. Maybe this is also a issue, the WikiProject Automobiles could give some general advice. --XTaran | Talk 14:35, 25 Mar 2004 (UTC)

VW Type 2 is now created. Hope, you have some additions, too. :-) --XTaran | Talk 19:29, 25 Mar 2004 (UTC)

Aka, glad you created the Auto Project. Is it fairly new? not sure what has been done so far... --Rj 06:06, Apr 6, 2004 (UTC)

re: Redirects

No problem. I was just going to drop you a message too! :) --Mrwojo 15:11, 19 Mar 2004 (UTC)

Haha i'm afraid my editing is more gungho enthusiasm than RTFM. I've got it now tho! akaDruid 15:26, 19 Mar 2004 (UTC)

re: Lincoln automobile

Hi, thanks for the update, I wasn't aware that Lincoln has been moved out of PAG - must check my facts next time!!

The Volkswagen Phaeton

I noticed you started an article entitled "VW Phaeton". For your information, I had already started one entitled "Volkswagen Phaeton".

Vespristiano 06:22, 2004 Apr 7 (UTC)

I just noticed I never replied to that... I'm sure everyone has noticed by now that VW Phaeton is now a redirect to Volkswagen Phaeton. Cheers. akaDruid(Talk) 11:25, 2 Jul 2004 (UTC)

Car classification

'moved from user page'

  • Car classification needs work to explain the differences and sort the layout out. (done some) akaDruid (Talk)
    • I put back my two penny worth about LUV as they are very different animals. In some cases, the M class for example, might be better under MPV. Traction Control and Vehicle Stability Control can make them very safe too. I wonder whether some of the article isn't too POV?Rjstott 04:03, 23 Mar 2004 (UTC)

Renault Laguna neutrality

Hi Akadruid. I have done some work on the Renault Laguna article to try and make it more NPOV. Seeing as you are the user that put the NPOV notice on that page I thought I should ask you if you think it is better now? I have put a similar message on the Laguna talk page. SamH 20:44, 9 Aug 2004 (UTC)

Nice job. I replied on your talk page. akaDruid (Talk) 11:50, 10 Aug 2004 (UTC)

Article Licensing

Hi, I've started a drive to get users to multi-license all of their contributions that they've made to either (1) all U.S. state, county, and city articles or (2) all articles, using the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike (CC-by-sa) v1.0 and v2.0 Licenses or into the public domain if they prefer. The CC-by-sa license is a true free documentation license that is similar to Wikipedia's license, the GFDL, but it allows other projects, such as WikiTravel, to use our articles. Since you are among the top 2000 Wikipedians by edits, I was wondering if you would be willing to multi-license all of your contributions or at minimum those on the geographic articles. Over 90% of people asked have agreed. For More Information:

To allow us to track those users who muli-license their contributions, many users copy and paste the "DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual" template into their user page, but there are other options at Template messages/User namespace. The following examples could also copied and pasted into your user page:

Option 1
I agree to multi-license all my contributions, with the exception of my user pages, as described below:
DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual

OR

Option 2
I agree to multi-license all my contributions to any U.S. state, county, or city article as described below:
DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual

Or if you wanted to place your work into the public domain, you could replace "DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual" with "MultiLicensePD". If you only prefer using the GFDL, I would like to know that too. Please let me know what you think at my talk page. It's important to know either way so no one keeps asking. -- Ram-Man (comment (http://en.wikipedia.org/w/wiki.phtml?title=User_talk:Ram-Man&action=edit&section=new)| talk)
