Rajesh, my native place is Ettayapuram and hence I did hear from my grand father that the people of Ettayapuram talked about Bharathy being addicted to kanja (Bharathy died before my grand father was born, so whatever information he has is from hearsay, but of a little more authentic nature). Negative perceptions about Bharathy
I came here via google searching for info about bharathy and was shocked to see the conspiracy theories. I have used/contributed to wikipedia before and it's is very easy to add false information about anybody you don't like. It is essential to verify whatever an editor puts.
Can you please mention a reliable source that says so?

- You may want to look at conspiracy theory for it's meaning. As far the statements are concerned, these are much popular among any literature experts. Bharathy vs. Bharathi
Which one is the spelling to be preferred? I somehow see colonial reekings in spelling it as "Bharathy". Anyway, which ever one is to be preferred, consistency has to be maintained in the article.
