Megadeth Chronology | ||
The World Needs A Hero (2001) | Rude Awakening (2002) | The System Has Failed (2004) |
Rude Awakening, Megadeth's last album before the band was broken up for the first time in 2002 released by Sanctuary Records in 2002. (The band was 'restarted' in 2004, with only Dave Mustaine remaining from the previous line-up, in 2004)
The album was going to be recorded live at a concert in Argentina, but due to the September 11, 2001 attacks, the band decided to record it live in the United States.
The album was a near total rejection of much of Megadeth's 'softer material' (Like the albums 'Countdown To Extinction' and 'Risk', which had no songs featured) and was seen as a return to their heavier, more 'metal' days of the 1980s and the very early and very late 1990s.
