David Ellefson

David Ellefson is a bass guitar player, and a former member of the thrash metal band Megadeth. After a disagreement with Megadeth's lead vocalist, Dave Mustaine, Ellefson filed an unsuccessful lawsuit. When Megadeth reformed in 2004, Ellefson declined an offer from Mustaine to rejoin the band. Since leaving Megadeth, he has played bass guitar for nu metal band Soulfly. He was born on November 12, 1964 in Minnesota.
David Ellefson was born November 12, 1964 in Jackson, Minnesota. Through his teen years he played bass and rhythm guitar in several bands, before moving to Los Angelos in the spring of 1983 after graduating High School. During his first week he met Dave Mustaine through a rather humourous event chronicled in their Behind The Music.
Ellefson was the only constant member of Megadeth along with Mustaine. He appeared on every album and tour from 1985's Killing Is My Business up until 2002's Rude Awakening. He is known as a very friendly and down to earth guy who has appeared on five tracks for the Soulfly album, "Prophecy" and is currently in a hard rock band called F5, which is a departure from his days as a Megadeth bass slinger.
The funny thing, Ellefson almost wasn't part of thrash history at all. He had full intentions of joining a glam band on the LA Strip until he heard the Metallica demo tape that Mustiane played on.
