Risk is an album by the metal band Megadeth released in 1999. It is generally regarded as Megadeth's musical nadir by both fans and Dave Mustaine alike, and is the last original Megadeth release to feature virtuoso guitarist Marty Friedman.
The title stems from Mustaine's decision to take a risk with the musical direction of this album, at the suggestion of ex-Metallica bandmate Lars Ulrich, who himself (as well as the other members of Metallica) had taken a risk with the Metallica albums of the late 1990s.
