Michael A. Jackson is a satellite project manager who ran as a Republican in the 2003 California recall, primarily getting votes due to sharing his name with that of pop singer Michael Jackson. Jackson garnered 746 votes, placing him 91st out of 135 candidates.
Jackson was born in El Paso, Texas, and moved to California with his family when he was young. He joined the United States Navy and served for ten years. After leaving the Navy, went to college. He graduated from Citrus College in 1994 with an Associate of Science degree in natural science. He then went to UCLA, graduating in 1996 with a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering.
