Kenai Peninsula Borough is a borough located in the state of Alaska. As of 2000, the population is 49,691. The borough seat is Soldotna. The borough includes the Kenai Peninsula and adjacent areas of the mainland of Alaska.

Geography
The borough has a total area of 64,114 km² (24,755 mi²). 41,474 km² (16,013 mi²) of it is land and 22,640 km² (8,741 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 35.31% water.

Demographics
As of the census2 of 2000, there are 49,691 people, 18,438 households, and 12,722 families residing in the borough. The population density is 1/km² (3/mi²). There are 24,871 housing units at an average density of 1/km² (2/mi²). The racial makeup of the borough is 86.21% White, 0.46% Black or African American, 7.47% Native American, 0.97% Asian, 0.17% Pacific Islander, 0.84% from other races, and 3.88% from two or more races. 2.19% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 18,438 households out of which 38.00% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 55.40% are married couples living together, 9.00% have a female householder with no husband present, and 31.00% are non-families. 24.70% of all households are made up of individuals and 5.10% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.62 and the average family size is 3.15.
In the borough the population is spread out with 29.90% under the age of 18, 6.90% from 18 to 24, 29.60% from 25 to 44, 26.20% from 45 to 64, and 7.30% who are 65 years of age or older.
