The club was formed in 1965, when two clubs, SC (Sportclub) Enschede and Enschedese Boys, gave the go ahead to merge and become FC Twente '65.
FC Twente's home colour is red, their stadium is the Arke Stadion, which has a capacity of 13,500. The average attendance in 2003/04 was 13,059 people.
