Clearfield County is a county located in the state of Pennsylvania. As of 2000, the population is 83,382.
Clearfield County was created on March 26, 1804 from parts of Huntingdon and Lycoming Counties but was administered as part of Centre County until 1812. Its county seat is Clearfield6.

Geography
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 2,988 km² (1,154 mi²). 2,972 km² (1,147 mi²) of it is land and 17 km² (6 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 0.56% water.
Demographics
As of the census2 of 2000, there are 83,382 people, 32,785 households, and 22,916 families residing in the county. The population density is 28/km² (73/mi²). There are 37,855 housing units at an average density of 13/km² (33/mi²). The racial makeup of the county is 97.40% White, 1.49% Black or African American, 0.12% Native American, 0.26% Asian, 0.01% Pacific Islander, 0.26% from other races, and 0.46% from two or more races. 0.56% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 32,785 households out of which 29.70% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 56.60% are married couples living together, 9.30% have a female householder with no husband present, and 30.10% are non-families. 26.30% of all households are made up of individuals and 13.10% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.44 and the average family size is 2.94.
In the county, the population is spread out with 22.70% under the age of 18, 7.70% from 18 to 24, 28.80% from 25 to 44, 23.90% from 45 to 64, and 16.90% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 39 years. For every 100 females there are 99.50 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 97.50 males.
