Christopher Fraser

Christopher James Fraser (born 25 October 1962) is a United Kingdom politician. He was Conservative Party member of Parliament for Mid Dorset and North Poole until 2001 when he lost the seat to Annette Brooke, a Liberal Democrat. He was elected MP for the seat of South-West Norfolk at the May 2005 general election.
Born in Hertfordshire, Fraser was educated at Harrow School and the University of Westminster. He worked as chairman of a communications company. He is married to Lisa since 1987 with a son and a daughter.
Fraser won Mid Dorset and North Poole at the 1997 general election with a majority of just 681. In Parliament, he served as PPS to Lord Strathclyde, as Shadow Leader of the House of Lords 1999-2001. Although his percentage of the vote actually increased in 2001, Fraser was edged out by the Liberal Democrats by 384 votes, after a tactical voting campaign urging Dorset residents to cast their votes in the best way so as to defeat the incumbent Conservatives. The Labour Party took Dorset South at the same election.
