Averøy is a municipality in the county of Møre og Romsdal, Norway.
It is the site of district's largest grotto, the Bremsnes cave, with traces of the Stone Age settlements of the so called Fosna culture.
The tourist attraction Atlanterhavsveien (Atlantic Road) connects the island and municipality of Averøy to the municipality Eide, which is on the mainland. A ferry goes from Bremsnes on Averøy to Kristiansund.
