Wynaut is a Pokémon in the games Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire. It is the pre-evolved form of Wobbuffet.

Wynaut is easily obtained at Lavaridge town in front of the springs where a lady gives an egg to you. It can also be obtained through breeding 2 wobuffet and one must have Lax incease attached or the result will be a Wobuffet.

Name Orgin

The name Wynaut comes from the phrase "Why not?"

Anime appearances

Wynaut appears in the Pokémon: Master Quest series in the Blackthorn City story arc, where Wynaut is the Pokémon that mysteriously steals Team Rocket's food (which Wobbuffet was subsequently blamed for). After Ash Ketchum wins the Rising Badge, his badges were stolen by Team Rocket. Wynaut then helps Bayleef and Noctowl recover the eight badges. It also appears in the special Camp Pikachu, where it helps the Pichu Bros. get to the city.

They later appear in Hoenn on Mirage Island.

Where to catch it

Wynauts can be caught on Mirage Island, an island that appears randomly according to what the old man in Pacifidlog Town says.

However, it is much easier to obtain one by breeding a Wobbuffet with the Lax Incense attached to it.

Attacks it knows

Wynauts learn Splash upon hatching, then Encore and Charm.
