Washington is a town located in Door County, Wisconsin. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 660.
Geography
According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 325.0 km² (125.5 mi²). 66.0 km² (25.5 mi²) of it is land and 259.0 km² (100.0 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 79.69% water.The land area is composed of Plum Island, Detroit Island, Washington Island, Hog Island, and Rock Island. Washington Island is the largest in a chain of islands extending across Lake Michigan between the Door Peninsula in Wisconsin and the Garden Peninsula in Delta County and Schoolcraft County, Michigan.

There are 903 housing units at an average density of 13.7/km² (35.4/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 98.79% White (mostly Icelander), 0.00% African American, 0.00% Native American, 0.30% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 0.91% from two or more races. 0.15% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 293 households out of which 25.3% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 59.0% are married couples living together, 6.1% have a female householder with no husband present, and 32.1% are non-families. 30.4% of all households are made up of individuals and 17.1% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older.
