Is there some place to flag near-duplicate articles if one doesn't want to do the merge themselves? Seems like there should be. Just making one a redir with no notification doesn't seem right.

Hmmm...taking a step back, I think you should consider moving the accompanied by your reasoning sentence back towards the top ot the section--maybe on it's own line between the top two sentences of the section. People that are just on the page to find out how to vote (IE not reading the whole page) may stop after the the first six votes. Niteowlneils 06:26, 14 Mar 2004 (UTC)

I think you need to wait more than 2 days before claiming consensus. A lot of people spent a lot of time converting subst to msg at Wikipedia:List of stubs without msg, so I expect they might object. Angela . 00:52, Mar 16, 2004 (UTC)

As an occasional contributor to the grandfather paradox article, I'm hoping that you have some familiarity with Newcomb's paradox. I am asking for informed comment on that article to head off what might become an edit war. Thanks for any assistance you can provide. Rossami

Szent-Györgyi

Actually it's not sure Albert Szent-Györgyi and that Thoroczko-Szent-Györgyi guy are related. Translated literally, Szent-Györgyi (or Szentgyörgyi) means 'a person from Szent-György'. The trouble is, there are several towns and villages called Szentgyörgy in Hungary, and with do not know which one Albert Szent-Gyögyi's name refers to. It may be Torockószentgyörgy, but also Marosszentgyörgy, Somogyszentgyörgy etc.

Status of Slogan: Naming Convention?

Aloha. I was wondering what the status is for naming Slogan articles. I see that you reverted a slew of them in March 2003, but I can't find anything in the naming convention pages that discuss this. Can you tell me how to name slogan pages? Thanks in advance. --Viriditas 06:38, 30 Oct 2004 (UTC)

Article Licensing

Hi, I've started a drive to get users to multi-license all of their contributions that they've made to either (1) all U.S. state, county, and city articles or (2) all articles, using the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike (CC-by-sa) v1.0 and v2.0 Licenses or into the public domain if they prefer. The CC-by-sa license is a true free documentation license that is similar to Wikipedia's license, the GFDL, but it allows other projects, such as WikiTravel, to use our articles. Since you are among the top 1000 Wikipedians by edits, I was wondering if you would be willing to multi-license all of your contributions or at minimum those on the geographic articles. Over 90% of people asked have agreed. For More Information:

To allow us to track those users who muli-license their contributions, many users copy and paste the "{{DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual}}" template into their user page, but there are other options at Template messages/User namespace. The following examples could also copied and pasted into your user page:

the issue of school articles

In November 2003, you participated in a VfD debate over Sunset High School (Portland). The debate was archived under Talk:Sunset High School (Portland). The issue over this article remains contested. moreover, there still does not exist a wikipedia policy (as far as i can tell) over what to do in regards to articles about specific U.S. public school. The article in question has been re-nominated for VfD at Wikipedia:Votes for deletion/Sunset High School (Portland).
