Thanks, much clearer

Is there some place to flag near-duplicate articles if one doesn't want to do the merge themselves? Seems like there should be. Just making one a redir with no notification doesn't seem right.

Hmmm...taking a step back, I think you should consider moving the accompanied by your reasoning sentence back towards the top ot the section--maybe on it's own line between the top two sentences of the section. People that are just on the page to find out how to vote (IE not reading the whole page) may stop after the the first six votes. Niteowlneils 06:26, 14 Mar 2004 (UTC)

I think you need to wait more than 2 days before claiming consensus. A lot of people spent a lot of time converting subst to msg at Wikipedia:List of stubs without msg, so I expect they might object. Angela. 00:52, Mar 16, 2004 (UTC)

You could advertise it on the pump, which is what most people do, but it's a bit too crowded there lately, so maybe WP:RfC would be better. Angela. 02:12, Mar 16, 2004 (UTC)

As an occasional contributor to the grandfather paradox article, I'm hoping that you have some familiarity with Newcomb's paradox. I am asking for informed comment on that article to head off what might become an edit war. Thanks for any assistance you can provide. Rossami

What is "WWWQ" about??

An Atlanta FM radio station with call letters "WWWQ" located at 100.5 FM. If this article title bothers you, you may re-direct to WWWQ-FM. User 66.32.110.151

I made a re-direct

Did you remember what you put on Talk:List of radio stations in Georgia (U.S. state)?? Well, I made what you think is a better title into a re-direct. 66.32.159.199 18:30, 25 Apr 2004 (UTC)

Szent-Györgyi

Actually it's not sure Albert Szent-Györgyi and that Thoroczko-Szent-Györgyi guy are related. Translated literally, Szent-Györgyi (or Szentgyörgyi) means 'a person from Szent-György'. The trouble is, there are several towns and villages called Szentgyörgy in Hungary, and with do not know which one Albert Szent-Gyögyi's name refers to. It may be Torockószentgyörgy, but also Marosszentgyörgy, Somogyszentgyörgy etc.

Status of Slogan: Naming Convention?

Aloha. I was wondering what the status is for naming Slogan articles. I see that you reverted a slew of them in March 2003, but I can't find anything in the naming convention pages that discuss this. Can you tell me how to name slogan pages? Thanks in advance. --Viriditas 06:38, 30 Oct 2004 (UTC)

Where are you?

You haven't left have you? Hope you come back. Dori | Talk 05:43, Dec 7, 2004 (UTC)

Article Licensing

Hi, I've started a drive to get users to multi-license all of their contributions that they've made to either (1) all U.S. state, county, and city articles or (2) all articles, using the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike (CC-by-sa) v1.0 and v2.0 Licenses or into the public domain if they prefer. The CC-by-sa license is a true free documentation license that is similar to Wikipedia's license, the GFDL, but it allows other projects, such as WikiTravel, to use our articles. Since you are among the top 1000 Wikipedians by edits, I was wondering if you would be willing to multi-license all of your contributions or at minimum those on the geographic articles. Over 90% of people asked have agreed. For More Information:

To allow us to track those users who muli-license their contributions, many users copy and paste the "DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual" template into their user page, but there are other options at Template messages/User namespace. The following examples could also copied and pasted into your user page:

Option 1
I agree to multi-license all my contributions, with the exception of my user pages, as described below:
DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual

OR

Option 2
I agree to multi-license all my contributions to any U.S. state, county, or city article as described below:
DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual

Or if you wanted to place your work into the public domain, you could replace "DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual" with "MultiLicensePD". If you only prefer using the GFDL, I would like to know that too. Please let me know what you think at my talk page. It's important to know either way so no one keeps asking. What happened?

"We regret to inform you that Oliver Pereira is no longer with us." Please tell me that is from some vandal and not a family member or friend giving us bad news... --mav 03:03, 13 Feb 2005 (UTC)

Thanks for the note. But I am still here! I have no idea who edited my page, or why, but I expect it was just some silly prankster... I've just fixed the page. (I forgot to sign in first, but the last edit to my user page was me.) And I'll reply to the other messages on this page later... -- Oliver P. 09:57, 14 Feb 2005 (UTC)
That's a big relief. :) --mav 10:19, 14 Feb 2005 (UTC)

Greetings!

Hello!

And yet more schools on Wikipedia:Votes for deletion

Hello Oliver,

As of March 31, 2005, there are an additional (10) articles listed for deletion under the POV notion that schools are non-notable (even though this is invalid reasoning as per the Wikipedia deletion policy). Please be aware that the following schools are actively being discussed and voted upon:

In response to this cyclical ordeal, a Schoolwatch programme has been initiated in order to indentify school-related articles which may need improvement and to help foster and encourage continued organic growth. Please feel free to add this page to your watchlist and make contributions as you are able; better articles make for a better Wikipedia. Your comments are welcome and I thank you for your time. --GRider\talk

the issue of school articles

In November 2003, you participated in a VfD debate over Sunset High School (Portland). The debate was archived under Talk:Sunset High School (Portland). The issue over this article remains contested. moreover, there still does not exist a wikipedia policy (as far as i can tell) over what to do in regards to articles about specific U.S. public school. The article in question has been re-nominated for VfD at Wikipedia:Votes for deletion/Sunset High School (Portland). My hope is that a real consensus can come out of the debate, and a real policy can take shape. Take part if you are so willing. Kingturtle 02:11, 12 Apr 2005 (UTC) P.S. The history of the debate can also be reviewed and discussed at Are high schools encyclopedic? (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Votes_for_deletion/Precedents#Are_high_schools_encyclopedic.3F_-_Yes).
