Bad jokes and deleted nonsense titles
For all the ones I added, do you have any suggested improvements for any of these titles? I would like to see these up, sometime or another...

Callsigns
I saw your note about callsigns in your user page. You've got nearly everything correct (at least as I see it, which I believe to be closely aligned to the way the FCC sees it), but for one little nit: "-LP", "-CA", "-FM", and "-TV" suffixes, if legitimately present, are part of the callsign; article titles and references to stations should use the form of the actual assigned callsign. (You can check on the FCC's Common Database System (http://svartifoss2.fcc.gov/prod/cdbs/pubacc/prod/cdbs_pa.htm) to be absolutely sure of what the FCC believes the callsign to be.) This sometimes can make difficulty for Wikipedia because stations will flip back and forth among four- and six-letter forms for commercial reasons. What's worse, often nobody at the station knows what their legal callsign is, particularly in the case of suffixes. In any event, the rule for Wikipedia should be very simple: use the exact form assigned by the FCC, regardless of whether there are any "conflicts", as the FCC is always the final arbiter for U.S. callsigns. 18.26.0.18 02:13, 19 Feb 2005 (UTC)
L band
The whole business about L band being unavailable for use in the U.S. is just a canard propagated by those in the broadcast industry who had an interest in seeing Eureka-147 fail here. The place which has seen the greatest takeup in DAB thus far is Britain, where all transmissions are in VHF ("band III"). There is plenty of VHF spectrum available in the U.S. to use for this purpose, particularly once the DTV transition has almost completely cleared off VHF-low; I've given some thought to applying for an experimental license for this purpose once my locals on 2, 4, and 5 have moved to UHF. You and I both know that the FCC under Powell has followed Eddie Fritts around as if on a leash; if the NAB had wanted real DAB to happen, it would have. As it is, there are two things they are terrified of: signal equality (not just AM versus FM but downtown class-B FMs versus class-A rimshots, and class-A AMs versus class-C graveyarders) and the even worse possibility that DAB licenses would not automatically be awarded to them (as Congress looks for more spectrum users to extract their pound of flesh). Parity in particular is a terrifying prospect, if you hold the only good signals in a market (as is the case in many CCU-dominated markets) and have paid too much to acquire those sticks. 18.26.0.18 00:52, 1 Mar 2005 (UTC)

- I have All Good Things. The ship is only referred to as "the Enterprise". The first shot we see of "the Enterprise", it is de-cloaking and coming up towards and past the camera with NCC-1701-D clearly marked on the top surface of the saucer. In another shot of the saucer cannon firing, again you can clearly see 1701-D on the bottom of the saucer. When the crew are assembled in the future Ten Forward they are talking about the Enterprise and Geordi says "the ship has held together pretty well over the years" and Riker says "They tried to decommission her about five years ago. One of the advantages of being an Admiral is, you get to choose your own ship". Sounds to me like they are talking about the 1701-D. AlistairMcMillan 18:14, 23 Apr 2005 (UTC)
ABC West
Hi there! I appreciate your efforts to combine ABC West in with Forum Communications... but if you've seen the western North Dakota stations and compared them with the ones in eastern North Dakota, you'd find they are run in completely different manners. WDAY and WDAZ both have local newscasts and other such programming, and space at http://www.in-forum.com, while Forum Communications has been so indifferent to KBMY/KMCY that it handed off management of the stations to the area Fox/UPN broadcaster- thus, ABC West. If you don't have a problem, I'll put up the ABC West page again and shift the redirects for KBMY and KMCY. The content on the Forum Communications page is mostly good but there's some slight factual inaccuracy I'll correct immediately. --Alexwcovington (talk) 07:26, 28 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Tokyo article
Hi - I see you deleted the div in the Tokyo article. Can you let me know what browser you use? I assume the issue you were fixing is that the the table and image appeared before the text. With Mac/Safari, in its current form the article shows both the table and image vertically aligned at the top of the article. Putting the table and the image in a div fixes this, but seems to cause problems (large vertical space before the text) for some browsers. So, what browser do you use and what do you see? - So how about a div with a width of 325px? I just downloaded firefox and that seems to look OK. The current version looks really bad with Mac/Safari. Pretty much any div fixes it. -- Rick Block (talk) 05:07, May 29, 2005 (UTC)

Congratulations! It's my pleasure to let you know that, consensus being reached, you are now an administrator. You should read the relevant policies and other pages linked to from the administrators' reading list before carrying out tasks like deletion, protection, banning users, and editing protected pages such as the Main Page. Most of what you do is easily reversible by other sysops, apart from page history merges and image deletion, so please be especially careful with those.
