- includes a link to its official website
- includes the correct ja: link (not to a disambiguation page)
- includes a dablink in the intro for like-named places (whether they are prefecture, city, town, or village)
- includes information about merger activity, and if the town/village no longer exists has been added to category:Dissolved municipalities of Japan (this involves updating prefecture, district, and/or city articles as appropriate)

- do a table like the unicode table for email standards?
