Hi Milaiklainim, welcome to Wikipedia. I moved your "Eye of a newcomer" from Wikipedia:Wikipedia maintenance to the Village pump. If you have any questions, see the help pages or ask at the village pump or on my talk page. Angela. 08:59, Mar 19, 2004 (UTC)

Salut, Milaiklainim!

Flauto Dolce 03:01, 31 Mar 2004 (UTC)

I've added Tok Pisin to the main page for you. Secretlondon 08:03, 5 Apr 2004 (UTC)

Buddha/Buddhism

I saw you request on simple, just after I started Buddhism (http://simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buddhism). It still needs more work. Let me know if the language level is OK or not.

Tok Pisin wikipedia

Hi, I'm very concerned about the Tok Pisin wikipedia.

It seems to me like so far, you are trying to use Wikipedia as a tool for learning Tok Pisin, but that is not waht it is. A Tok Pisin wikipedia should have the same aims as do the English and all other Wikipedias, except its text should be in Tok Pisin.

If people want to learn Tok Pisin, perhaps somebody can write a course at http://www.wikibooks.org/

I would like to ask you to remove all bilingual pages immediately please and leave only Tok Pisin (the exception being Wikipedia: pages, Talk: pages, and your own user page)

In addition, I am concerned about your suggestion that Wikipedians use "lg" and "bl" instead of "long" and "bilong".

While these abbreviations may be commonly used, the words "long" and "bilong" are hardly very long; typing two or four more letters for the sake of "grammatical correctness", especially since we are using computers rather than carving letters into our skin, is hardly painful. If there really were a problem with long words, at the English wikipedia we would write "h" instead of "he", "w/" instead of "with", "u" instead of "you", "tht" instead of "that", "int'l" instead of "international", etc... however, the only abbreviations we use at Wikipedia are those that represent more than one word, such as "PC" instead of "personal computer", etc.

...lastly, one of the main policies of Wikipedia is to not have dictionary definitions (we call them dicdefs). If you want to write a Tok Pisin dictionary, feel free to do so at http://tpi.wiktionary.org/ ; however before you do that please check out the layout of another Wiktionary such as the French or English one ( at http://fr.wiktionary.org/ , http://en.wikipedia.org/ ). I would request that you remove all the dictionary things from tpi: asap.
