Welcome
Please put messages for me here! I am rather tidy so I will delete once received unless there is a reason not to (such as interest to others)--BozMo 10:30, 29 Apr 2004 (UTC)
Comments on my site: Cates (http://www.catesfamily.org.uk), my book: letter to Peter (http://www.catesfamily.org.uk/letter-to-peter/), or the child charity (http://www.soschildrensvillages.org.uk/children-charity.htm) through which you could always sponsor children (http://www.soschildrensvillages.org.uk/sos-children-charity/sponsor-a-child.htm) would be particularly welcome.
I will visit here most days but have a busy job and young kids so not always. My other email is my christian name @ my homepage. --BozMo 08:41, 10 May 2004 (UTC) Another good place to find me is Ward's Wiki (http://www.c2.com/cgi/wiki?AndrewCates).
Page layout years
This discussion has been referred to Wikipedia:WikiProject_Years near the bottom of the page there. Whilst it runs I will not be changing actual year pages. --BozMo 17:44, 11 May 2004 (UTC)
However, it is still running. Pity there is no Wikipedia version of Occam's razor. The year pages are just getting more and more complex and interlinked by the day. I wonder what the real downside to this is. It cannot make generating new page changes any quicker.
Fixed Locked copies
BozMo is one of those involved in the fixed regular static copies at: fixed reference (http://fixedreference.org) English WikiPedia 24 July 04 (http://july.fixedreference.org/en/20040724/wikipedia/Main_Page)Simple WikiPedia 24 July 04 (http://july.fixedreference.org/simple/20040724/wikipedia/Main_Page) WikiPedia Francais 27 Juillet 2004 (http://july.fixedreference.org/fr/20040727/wikipedia/Accueil)
These have been generated from the downloads not by botting the actual site since we are ultra-compliant (even flagging intention to do so on copyright page for a month before we started)!!! However they are probably imperfect: let me know if you see any bugs. The plus of a fixed version is that it does enable me to say, for example, that I wrote the simple Maths (http://fixedreference.org/simple/20040501/wikipedia/Mathematics) intro without worrying if it is still there, and that I think it is better than the main en Maths (http://fixedreference.org/en/20040424/wikipedia/Mathematics) version.
I might get rid of these if the WP famous verion 1.0 ever actually happens. Hmm. There is lots of discussion elsewhere about whether WP is a converge or divergent process; whether order will eventually emerge from the chaos. I am not sure. I think that there are too many signs that things are going wrong and that no one actually has the stomach to impose the editorial control to keep quality high. In a way this is a real pity; and is a kind of sad reflection of many wider problems in the world today.
Things I find amusing from 150 years ago =
I have a sad sense of humour. Make that a very sad sense of humour.
I like English Weather (http://john-leech-archive.org.uk/1851/the-pic-nic.htm), how far we've come since 1851 (http://john-leech-archive.org.uk/1851/ladies-of-creation-1.htm), being kind to children (http://john-leech-archive.org.uk/1856/judicious.htm), poor taste (http://john-leech-archive.org.uk/1846/private-opinion.htm), breath taking rudeness (http://john-leech-archive.org.uk/1847/smart-youth.htm) and practicality (http://john-leech-archive.org.uk/1855/useful-if-not-ornamental.htm). Actually I like lots of different cartoons and am a bit of a Dilbert fan, as well as liking the old Giles Cartoons. Somehow in a world where many of us struggle to get our opnions heard the power of a cartoon in viciously characaturing a situation can be pretty awesome.
By the way, the fixed reference pages probably don't quite work perfectly, especially the news bit. Please also tell me here of any bugs or copyright issues or anything. --BozMo 09:00, 13 May 2004 (UTC)

ditto Angela again on the nofollow thing on which I have voted but I might change my mind at any rate in terms of the Simple WikiPedia where there are lots of spam issues.
